No bug bites on my neck since wearing this regularly outdoors
I'm a bug magnet and this eliminated bug bites around my neck. I wear it every time I go outside, whether to play in the garden or go for a walk. This prevents local bites so I still need something for any other exposed parts but together with the insect shield spray repellent, I've had far fewer bites this year than is typical for me. I'd definitely recommend this and other similar branded items as a good contribution to the arsenal of bug-free products.

This is money well spent
So the fabric is stiff and ok. But when i put it on, I love it. It does not cling and is cool in the heat. In fact, i did not want to take it off. I wish they had more colors and patterns. It definitely works against the bugs.

Misleading description but seems to do what is supposed to do.
I purchased the dark red bandana and it is 50% polyester/50% cotton, not 100% cotton as listed in the description. I washed it once and wore it tied loosely around my neck for several days. The cotton-blend material is okay, not especially comfortable nor uncomfortable. The bandana is treated with Permethrin, an odorless pesticide. It is not supposed to repel insects. What it is supposed to do is incapacitate or kill insects upon contact before they can bite you. Insects really seem to like biting me in the neck and the bandana did reduce the number of bites, so at least for me it worth the money.

An ounce of prevention
Weโve been using these bandanas for years. Theyโre great for the dogs and the humans. They work great in offering another level of protection against ticks. We keep the older worn out ugly ones in our bathroom. Anytime we pick a live tick off the dog, we rub it on the old bandana before discarding them in the toilet. In my tests it takes less than a minute for the permethrin to cause the ticks to lose use of their legs. Another benefit is visibility. Theyโre comfortable enough that we leave them on all the time. On the dogs that is, my wife and I remove ours upon coming inside. Iโd like to see brighter colors available, like Orange and Lime Green. You can also reuse the older ones by tying them around the bottom of your pant legs while outside. It keeps your pants closed to any upward crawling insects, and also providing a safe chemical deterrent. If they crawl across it, the chances are less that theyโll even get to your mid-section, let alone have ability to hang on.

Not effective for the Northwoods mosquitos
Bought these in an attempt to help keep mosquitoes away from our dogs. They seemed to help in Minnesota but apparently, the mosquitos in Canada are built different because they still swarmed and even landed on the bandanas. Additionally, the stitching on one of the bandanas was messed up (see pic) which was a bit disappointing.

Bug free hiking
I was really hesitant to try these. However, after trying one on my dog with good results, I added one to me. They work. I was totally bug free on my hike. I guess it could have just been a bug free day but that is unlikely as it is prime bug season. I will have one of these in my car at all times as an added layer of protection when I am outside!

Smaller than expected.
Very stiff on arrival. Needs to be washed first. Not quite large enough for a bandana. Only will wrap and tie around a thin neck. I sewed on fabric to make it bigger.
