Wish I had bought the one that has an on and off switch. Otherwise, I love the way it picks up voices. Clear and concise performance. Planning to buy two more in the near future.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The quality

I tried the Carol P-1 to see if the AHNC system actually worked. (It does). The AC-910 has a brighter sound with more clarity, which will work better for live singing. Carol mics aren't common in the USA, but it doesn't mean they aren't good stuff. Two years after buying the first one, I got several more. This mic is a good value for a quality wired stage mic.

Bought to use for back up singers.Sound good for the price, only no on or off switch. So your gonna need an XLR connector for a mic with an off switch.

Has a nice presence rise at 5k. A little more bass than a Senn 735 but nicer presence. However the Senn costs about the same so I hope these hold up well. I bought mine without the switch because that could potentially be a problem down the road. Seems well built. Handling noise is very minimal.

Not super impressed. It could be the switchboard we connected to but it’s not as loud as I thought it would be and I assumed thought there was an on/off switch.

TL:DR; Highly recommended. Does not seem like a perfect "flat" mic, but has nice off axis rejection and vocals sound great through it in a live setting.Our singing drummer switched this in for a Beta56A style (drum) microphone - and that mic was chosen for the off-axis noise rejection to keep the drum kit sound out of the vocal mix as much as possible. It was surprising how good it sounded immediately and worked better than other more normal mics (ie. SM57/58).The Carol mic still did a great job of letting the vocals through and the rest of the sound down. To be clear, there is still a lot of other sound that comes through but we've never found a perfect solution for that - what we hope to get is a big clear clean vocal sound that doesn't need to be EQ'd to get the vocal big and up front since that usually changes the sound enough to make it kind of strange.The clarity and fullness of this mic are on point. I think it has a bit of a mid scoop (maybe a lot) and possibly a low end cut built into it (I am not sure about that - I'm comparing to the last mic which definitely impacts the sound).It's also great on the main vocals. It is supposed to suppress hand sound from holding the mic and we didn't really test that, but the normal main vocals are on a Shure Beta58 which doesn't have much hand sound to begin with. We certainly didn't notice it, so it seemed to be working - I just am not comfortable vouching for that part of it because hand sounds can drive the sound engineer crazy (I've seen it happen) very quickly and it's an important feature if it does work.That aside, just based on the sound, it's fantastic. I think it could also be great to pair with some other mics for recording guitars, or even a snare drum. It has that extra "live" feel to the sound. It almost sounds like it's running through some nice analog gear already - at least in a very subtle way. So, some may find it a bit heavy on the coloring - perhaps too much for a studio (but perhaps not - different mics are usually what you need) but for live vocals, it's a very solid choice.Can't speak to the durability, but it seems like it would handle the rigors of the road well.

Review of a CAROL Dynamic Microphone Vocal with Super-Cardiod Unidirectional, Top Choice for Live Stage Performance Noise Cancelling AHNC Technology with Slide Potentiometer Switch, AC-910I used to record quite a bit at home for many years. I wrote small musicals for my church and I sure could have used a mic of this quality back then. Good clarity, even through a small acoustic amp.The hum canceling is a nice feature for my needs. I wanted this mic for computer recording and computers can cause hum in audio equipment. The mic works well with my Wrugste USB Audio interface and Bandlab’s Cakewalk Software. It comes with a decent quality, long, XLR cord and a mic holder attachment for a stand, and a nice little zippered carrying case. The mic body is metal and has some weight to it. It even works with my heavy duty spring loaded boom mic arm, which needs a decent weight mic to stay in position.I used an XLR to ¼” adapter cord and plugged it into my acoustic amp mic line. I sat in front of the amp and tested it out. No noise, no feedback even sitting right in front of the amp (with the mic facing away from the amp), so the unidirectional feature works.I found the clarity seemed really good through the acoustic amp and through the computer recording setup. I thumped it around in my hand while plugged into the acoustic amp a bit to see how it handled hand noise, very silent.Very nice microphone.
