Review: Bent grass for putting green - Quality seed, no weed seeds.
Review: patience - Here's the thing, Bent grass is a very difficult grass to grow, but its also difficult to maintain. There's a reason as to why people who work with this grass have horticulture degrees, etc. Regardless, you must have proper drainage, proper soil, proper PH, and a proper soil temperature as well as ideal weather conditions when attempting to establish this grass from seed. From a planting perspective, I've had nothing but good luck with this particular seed. Like any seed it is important to apply a starter fertilizer and keep the soil damp until you begin to see reasonable establishment. The grass will likely come in as a seemingly patchy failure or as having random growth. My advice is to be patient and begin a daily regiment that includes appropriate watering, weeding by hand, and continuous monitoring while the initial germination occurs. Weeding (including the pulling of possible foreign grasses) is essential to allow room for the Bent grass seed to germinate and to likewise provide lateral growth expansion. Weeding is best done in the morning while the soil is damp. If you remain vigilant to this task your efforts will be minimal, and when fully established the chance for weeds will greatly lessen to almost none. When comfortable, cut the grass to a length that is manageable for continued seeding (1/2 inch or less) and continue to apply seed to your bare areas. Again, be patient but disciplined. Cutting should be no more than a third of the height. As establishment occurs over time work your cutting height down to the appropriate height. Also, be sure to kill your ants. I will also add that it's not realistic to suggest that you will acquire useable turf in a matter of weeks. With bent grass you will need to continually seed in order to achieve the putting surface we all would ideally have in our backyard. And when you have acquired said putting surface, you must continue to add light top dressings of fine soil and continue to seed. Best of luck!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How much water does this grass need in So Cal?**
A: It depends on what you're using it for. If you are making a putting green, you'll need to water it often...if it's just for a lawn, after the grass is established (usually 6-8 weeks after planting), the grass will usually tell you when it needs water, but here is AZ, I would water it 3-4 times a week. Your soil, drainage, air flow, are all factors in how much water you will need.

**Q: Is this the PC 2.0 bentgrass? Thanks**
A: Yes

**Q: How much seed for 450 square feet?**
A: It is hard to give a specific answer. Many factors come in to play, drainage, soil composition, sunlight, germination. I bought 20 lbs for 1000sq ft. Used over half and kept the remainder to over-seed once it germinates.

**Q: Would this grass do well with occasion dog urine spot and heavy large dog playground ?**
A: No, this grass is much more delicate.
