Great product
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Very nice for my orchids. I might use the remaining for a mix for my begonia. She ain't happy. The Cattleya, that had ants and likely aphids? Some new roots/a new pseudobulb has popped up. The antelope-style has a new growth. And yes. The mini orchid is loving it too. Recommend this product fully.

Does the Job
I bought this bark to plant one of my bromeliad pups. It is really nice bark, just the right size. The pieces are small to medium and easy to work with. I did sterilize it in the oven before use and then soaked it in water before potting. I bought the 4-quart size and I have just enough left for one more pot.

Very small bag
Pay attention to the quart size. It arrived and was very small.

small but good stuff
I love this potting bark. The package is enought to do two 5-6 pots of orchids with a lot of roots.

I wish I would have used this when I got my first plants!
I needed a great potting mix for my Monsteras and other plants and this is SO great to mix with perlite and potting soil to create a nice chunky mix. The size of the bag is good so it doesn't run out quickly, and it works perfectly. There isn't any smell and my plants are growing so well now. Since I made the switch, they are all so healthy and growing so fast, I wish I would have done it from the beginning!

Perfect size pieces
Great size pieces for small pots, 4 inch. Goof for bigger ones, as well

good orchid bark for small (2-4 inch) pots
The media could not be loaded. I like this bark! The pieces are very small in comparison to more big name brands but I actually prefer that because most of my orchids are in 2-4 inch pots. I don't think the standard size bark would fit at all in my 2in pots and not very well in the 3in pots. I mix the two together for my 4in and 5in pots.I bought the 2qt bag just to try it- don't be surprised that the 2qt bag is very small, especially in comparison to the bags you might find at the store. I've used this bark in 5 pots (one 2in, one 3in, and three 4in) and still have enough left for probably 2-3 more pots depending on size.None of the bark had mold on it and there were no pests or anything. I did notice that when I kept it in one of my cabinets (dark and dry), the bag would end up with a small amount of condensation inside, which was causing the bark to get slightly moist. To try and prevent that, I now keep it cracked open a tiny bit when I store it- just enough to let it air out. The bag is resealable, which is nice.
