desertcart.com: Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Dawn of Yangchen (Chronicles of the Avatar Book 3) (Volume 3): 9781419756771: Yee, F.C.: Books Review: Got it excellent quality as described thanks - Got it excellent quality as described thanks Review: Good Story. Espionage, Mystery, Political Strategy, & Trust. - Having suffering Combat PTSD myself, I found it hard to get through paragraphs of Yangchen suffering from dreams of trauma and failings that her past Avatars have been through. I had to put the book down for weeks because it caused me to wander into my own trauma. I know I had to continue reading despite my PTSD because the Avatar Universe has always provided therapeutic enjoyment for me. Gradually easing myself into reading “The Dawn of Yangchen”, it was good and bad that the story did not go into depth or in length with Yangchen’s past life trauma. This would have been good or bad to explore, but I get it’s something that may not get resolved, but something you attempt to manage. Of course, I get this topic may not be age appropriate or distressing for some. Well anyways, the Story in itself shows another side of an Avatar. It explores the pressure a young girl has to contend with as a prime force that has the responsibility to guide the world into balance. She has to be shrewd & cunning when dealing with Nation Politics against adults who would attempt to manipulate and look down on her. Despite this, Yangchen is always respectful. The story in itself has elements of Mystery, Espionage, and Political Strategy. There was not a lot of Bending Battles and instead of the “Power of Friendship”, Yangchen had few she trusted and seemed to prefer to do things on her own. Not many can relate to this personality type. Which probably led the story to emphasize development of accessory characters. Good Story, looking forward to reading more. Lots to explore with one of the most respected Avatars in the Avatar Bending Universe. Thank You.

Good Story. Espionage, Mystery, Political Strategy, & Trust.

A decent book
After the Kyoshi books were alright... biggest problem tackling a fan favorite is... limited time and in two books set in a narrow window of her life it wasn't that great overall but gave you an idea of what she would become. This does much the same with a different kind of airbender and I enjoyed it but I didn't love it. The books and comics have been hit and miss so far after the two series but I will get the second book if there is one for it. I like the idea of exploring the different avatars but hopefully it isn't just going to be female past lives.

A Notable Departure from the Kyoshi Novels
I know, I know. Why would veering from a successful framework be a good thing? After all, I LOVED the Kyoshi novels with their novel approach to bending, the superb character development, and the high-level of intrigue that was so expertly woven throughout. However, Avatar Yangchen is a heroine uniquely her own who wields political savvy in ways that "bend" monarchs and despots to her will; especially when the checks she writes are backed up by the Avatar's power. Herein lay the greatest strength and weakness of this novel: she accomplishes much through the threat of force and guile. Perhaps too much for some who enjoyed Kyoshi's rough-and-tumble style. Don't expect a read dense with epic bending moments as featured in its predecessors, although there are a few great ones. What you can expect is a story with an excellent premise filled with political intrigue and espionage that sets up a lovable protagonist and what is sure to be a truly magnificent sequel--or "double beat," as Yangchen would call it. In many ways, this volta offers a refreshing change of pace and cements itself as a worthy installment in the Chronicles of the Avatar series. I for one enjoyed it, and I am elated that the venerable F. C. Yee continues to expand the Avatarverse with exiting content. While this story's fuse delays much of the gratification until the sequel, I am excited for its "explosive" finale!

A great start
I love this book. It's a great beginning to a two part series on Yangchen the air avatar before Aang. It's interesting to see who Yangchen actually was rather than who we think she is from the show.

Kargo sipariş verdiğim gün verildi US'dan gelmesine rağmen gayet hızlıydı. Üründe hasar yok tek sıkıntı etrafına herhangi bir şey sarmamışlar (kitap olduğu için diyebilirsiniz ama hasarlı olsa geri gönderecektim), şansıma bir sorunu yok kitabın (henüz).
