I ordered this unit for a laundry room reorganization project. I looked at many units like this and chose this one because I needed the ten shelves on the sides and the ability to customize the width. It arrived in perfect condition and was very easy to put together. One person can assemble it but it is easier with two due to its size. Took my husband and I a little over 30 mins to assemble. All you need is a rubber mallet and a willingness to read the instructions before getting started. It's really not complicated. If assembled properly, this unit is very, very sturdy. The expandable hanging rods are quite heavy, there is no concern with them bending when hanging heavy clothes on them.We did not attach this unit to the wall. I have loaded it up with a substantial amount of weight. Things like extra bottles of laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, cleaning towels, beach towels, old linens, etc. That stuff gets heavy when it's all placed on one unit. Then I've added the weight of wet clothes hanging on the rod. I've had NO problems with tipping or shifting.One thing to note: the rods that extend from the side of the unit do not "float" as noted in one of the question and answers sections. The unit comes with braces that are meant to be attached to a wall to support the side rods, such as in a closet. The directions clearly specify that. So if you are considering this unit for free standing use or something other than a closet, just know that you can't use those side rods. They have to have support.

I have a lot of clothes and the shelving in my closet kept collapsing because the studs kept stripping due to the weight. I finally got tired of having to find new studs in the walls, not to mention I was really damaging the walls. I thought, there has to be a better way. I turned to Amazon because they are my solution finding machine! I came across this expandable closet organizer and decided to give it a shot. OMG, I am super satisfied with this product! Not only does it look amazingly stylish, it actually created more space to hang more with the double tier poles. It is super sturdy and very simple to assemble. I am very pleased with this purchase and plan to order another one for my winter coats.

I bought this for the guest bedroom and it is so much sturdier and easier to construct than the Closet Maid kit I bought for the master bedroom. Live and learn.UPDATE: I bought another for the master bedroom closet which is about 12 feet across. Used the side hanger extensions this time. This organizer is so easy to put together and so sturdy, took me and my husband about two hours to build. Compare to the Closet Maid system which took equivalent to an entire day, was not nearly as sturdy and difficult to configure in a practical arrangement. For both closets I bought the resin slat version , it has an oil rubbed look that I think is more polished looking than the other styles. I highly recommend this product.

This organizer is easy to put together and appears strong enough for its purpose, although I have not yet been able to use it. The bars for the shelves are plastic and one arrived broken. The top shelf that stretches out over the hanging rod is metal. One of the metal shelves is bent so that it sits crooked and appears warped - which is not appealing to look at everyday. Unfortunately, most of this organizer had been put together before the broken pieces were taken out of the box. Returning the whole item is more hassle that it is worth. I would be much happier if there were a way to simply replace the two broken shelves. I believe that with ordinary use, this organizer would hold up fairly well. I just hate to purchase something new and have it arrive damaged. Improvements in packaging would solve this problem. There is little padding protecting this item while shipping so my guess it that damage on arrival is common.

Product is really good and looks sturdy. A lot of room for organizing your stuff. The instructions also made it easy to assemble it.It is exactly what we needed.Though when it arrived, some shelves got scratches on it and one shelf is broken. Not sure if this was caused by shipping or manufacturer's side.

I absolutely LOVE this!!!! My brother helped me to put it together just before Christmas 2014. It took us between 2-3 hours because there are a lot of pieces. But honestly, it was easy to do, especially with 2 of us doing it. It's been 2-months now and I couldn't be happier! And the price was way-cheaper w/comparable quality to what I saw at Home Depot and Loews. I saw a review that talks about it being wobbly - Not so!!! Especially if you store the heavier items on the bottom. Example: 1. I purchased the thin/felt hangers. You can get like 50 for $12 at Sam's Club or Costco. 2. I hang heavy stuff (jackets & dress pants) on the bottom rack, with heavier items like jeans folded on the bottom racks. Higher shelves hold "play clothes" like folded t-shirts and sweaters, with dress tops on the top rack. The vary top shelves hold my lightest things (hats). Perfectly stabilized when you pack it smartly!. I'd buy another in a heartbeat if I needed it.

Arrived on time, but that's the only positive thing I can say. Box looked like it was beat up and taped back together. Half the pieces were missing along with the assembly instructions, guess I won't need that. I found a little box that you'd expect to have the little tools to put it together, but it was empty too. I'd really like to know if it came like this or if FedEx ripped into it and took half the stuff out, patching it up with tape afterwards. I had shelf pieces and no poles at all. They were all scratched up as well. No protection to keep stuff from rubbing and moving around inside.

Like the general design, but in sensed to have little , slow or no help to replace parts. After constructing easy steps, tried to screw in a hanging rod that had a damaged thread, so wouldnt work. This is a defect improbable to forsee when preparing the assembly. But the "run around" wait game after contacting Seville Classics.
