It's my new favorite!
I must admit, I've only had experience with two camels previously, so I might not be the authority on the subject but this did everything I expected it to do with only one slight hiccup, imo. That little hiccup is that the insulated line (purchased separately) didn't keep the water as cold as I had hoped. With that said, it is very nitpicky, but it's literally the only thing I can complain about.Take a literal minute and watch a YouTube video of how to seal the top. I thought I had a clue but despite my best efforts, I failed. After watching the video it sealed perfectly and didn't leak a single drop.We hiked for four and a half hours in scorching CR heat and the water in the reservoir was ice cold the entire time. The 2 liter capacity was awesome, I came back with about half of my water. Again, still very cold. No ice was left but the water was cold!

Fits perfectly in storage of kayak and keeps water chilly all day!
Bought this for two reasons:1. I wanted a water bladder I could lash directly to my kayak, instead of fooling around with getting a hydration backpack to fit with my life jacket.2. Drinking cool drinks while in the hot sun is not a necessity, but it feels so luxurious. This worked really well. Love that the top of the sleeve has a buckling strap that I can secure around my deck lines. The sleeve itself worked well and keep my water cool for 7 hours on a hot sunny river. To all the reviews saying it leaked because it wasn’t properly aligned, here’s a trick: turn the lid counterclockwise until you hear a click, THEN turn clockwise to tighten. Works like a charm, no leaking at all (and I used a fizzy electrolyte tablet too)!A few things I didn’t like:1. Difficult to clean — to clean properly, I needed to take the bladder out of the sleeve. Then it was next to impossible to get the bladder back in the sleeve perfectly aligned. Doesn’t affect functionality, just irritating.2. Your drink is kept cool, but the hose will store some water and that will be HOT. So every drink of cold water is preceded by warm water. Not the end of the world, but irritating.3. I wish there was an option for a longer hose! This fit in the back of my kayak (see picture) and the hose was able to snake alongside the cockpit, but it’d be so much easier if it were 6” longer. Would be a nice option.

Keeps water cold on hot hikes
Love the insulated cover for hot hikes. It did come with a rubbery flavor even after washing it a few times with dish soap. Water I left in there overnight had to be dumped the next morning because it was undrinkable. I was told by someone else to give it a saltwater soak to take care of the issue, but I didn’t know that before my trip. Once the rubber flavor was gone, it was excellent. The handle makes filling it easy, and getting it open is kind of a hassle but that just means the bubber gasket is excellent at preventing leaks.

Keeps it cold.
You need this in the south Texas heat... It keeps water cold for a 3 hour bike ride in temperatures above 98. Just keep in mind its larger, so you may need a different pack.Also... Bite down further then you think to get water. I struggled the first half of the ride.

The Cap is hard to get... At first
It kept leaking so much! It literally took me 23 minutes to try to figure out how to get it on there (repeatedly) so that it would stay sealed. Now it's not an issue. Everything else about it is great, just have to keep in mind how finicky it is to close.

Great smaller bladder
Purchased this to replace my old one that was 10+ years old. You can’t beat CamelBak products. This is another case of you get what you paid for, My last one lasted over 20,000 miles on my Recumbent bicycle with very little maintenance, only needed to be replaced after sitting the refrigerator for over a year without being used.

Poorly built with low durability
Great idea in theory but the construction leaves so much to be desired. The handle you have to use to pour water in detached when it was full. Putting it back on is extremely difficult. As others have mentioned, it's VERY difficult to get a tight seal so you end up with leaks. I've used the open till it clicks and then close it method with some success. Meaning, only a small amount of water leaks. The insulation keeps it cool for a while, but that's also probably due to the leaked water on your back keeping you cool. CamelBak used to be a great brand. But now it's just garbage.

ATTN FLORIDA HUNTERS!
Finally a hydration bladder that can keep ice water cold all day. If you hunt south florida, this is a gamechanger. Kept on the outside of my day pack with solid molle clips(same as Kuiu clips)

Can't get rid of the rubbery smell or taste of the bladder. Unusable.
While it is beautifully designed and would be perfect as a water reservoir in my glider, the obnoxious smell and taste that permeates the water from the bladder, makes it unusable.I washed multiple times then alternatively left plain water, then soapy water overnight, to absorb it. I repeated, day after day after day. Still smelly. Then I tried cranberry juice, soaked for 24 hours hoping to get rid of it. No luck. The water still taste of bladder and leaves a weird feeling on my tongue and in my throat.Perhaps another case of designers getting too fancy and overlooking the obvious - using a bladder that doesn't smell or leave the water tasting funny.A real shame. I really wanted this, needed it, and was so looking forward to it making my flights easier.

Excellent for a large (!) rucksack
Got a great deal and went for this over 2L version. The insulated cover keeps drinks very cold. This is perfect if you have a large rucksack and need a lot of water (although a bit too big for a day pack if that’s what you would use it for - 1 to 2L is a better option). Still, very good quality though

Super Weiterentwicklung!
Klare Weiterempfehlung!
