Mengo Aluma Stick Universal Magnetic Car Mount Dashboard Phone Holder for All Smartphones

I bought this because of the ball mount for the magnetic head; it fits nicely on my Garmin dashboard mount, which doesn't require an adhesive pad to stay on the dashboard, so it can be moved to another car when needed. I attached the metal plate to the back of my iPhone, and it seems to work even through the OtterBox case, although if the phone is not exactly centered, it will slip down a little on the magnet head.Altogether I am very happy with my purchase.

I have had several of these magnetic phone mounts. I have a couple other brands in my various vehicles. This one by Mengo is my favorite because the magnet is the strongest. On the others I have bumped the phone and knocked it off the magnet. This has never happened with the Mengo. My wife installed it on the dashboard of our SUV and the peel and stick adhesive has held strong. I would highly recommend.

This thing is great at holding your phone, magnet is strong and is really nice and I'd like to give this a 5 star; however, the adhesive is literally terrible I haven't had it for more then a week and used the 2 adhesives include both only lasting maybe 2/3 days. Going over bumps putting phone on and off quickly pulls up the adhesive. Both times the whole thing including phone has literally shot across the car around a turn. VERY disappointed in JUST the adhesive. The base where it sticks to a surface should either be larger to accommodate a largeish phone (even though 90% of phone are large now a days) so I don't get why it could handle it or the adhesive just sucks and it should be a better/stronger adhesive. I love it for the minimalist look but I guess I'm just gonna have to gorilla glue this damn thing down because that's the ONLY way anyone is gonna get a strong hold and not have this thing rip off or fall off randomly. I honestly wish I could just get my money back even though it wasn't a lot of money.

This review is more to let everyone know about the style change.I bought one for my car back in July, and recently decided to buy another for my truck. The new one I received did not look the same as the first one I received.In the 1st pic (of the two boxes), you can see in the images on the box that the design and height of the base has changed. What may not be obvious in this picture, however (due to its fine print) is that the model number (bottom-left corner of each box, under the word "MOUNT") did not change - both boxes have MG293 as the model number.The 2nd pic is the first one I ordered (original design), mounted in my car. This design did result in a lot of vibration being transferred through the base to the phone while driving. It was also not quite as tall as I expected.The 3rd pic is the second one I received (new design), mounted in my truck. I have not tested this one out yet, but I'm optimistic the new design, with the shorter & braced mount, will reduce vibration.The 4th pic is a stock photo of the original design, taken from Amazon.com (for reference, since I'm assuming at some point the images will be updated).

It worked well at first. The support sticks well to the car, and the magnet works great, but the problems started as early as 3 months. First, it Doesn't Hold Upright. The whole thing sags from the weight of my light-weight phone.Then the whole threaded piece broke off, and now it doesn't work at all. They claim Mengo offers a 1-year warranty, but they do not respond to emails, and their phone was disconnected.

Used this with an iPhone X and everything worked great for about 10 days. However, I came out to the car today to find the mount on the floor. The adhesive simply gave out. I followed the installation instructions exactly as they were written. I found a flat area on the dash, cleaned it with alcohol, pressed firmly on the adhesive tape for several minutes, and waited until the next day to attach the magnet and use the mount. It is getting cold here on the east coast, so perhaps that is part of the problem. The unit came with an extra adhesive strip, so I guess I'll try again. One other thing to be aware of is that the metal plate that you must attach to the phone or phone case prevents qi wireless charging from working.

This is my favorite car mount. You just have to put it down and then you can rotate it around so that your phone is sticking up well on the dash. Also, it's somewhat taller than other mounts like this which is excellent for putting my samsung s8 on. I found that I was much more able to keep the phone mounted with the additional height.
