PW4500 Direct Drive 4500 GPH Waterfall Pump

We have a pretty big waterfall and this has worked great! Excellent water flow and quiet operation. Makes it peaceful!

This is my second Cal pump as my first one lasted five years (seasons) which was great. My second pump, it hasn't lasted one season as it's leaking and tripping my GFI. I've tried to call them and there is zero customer service. Proceed with caution.I'll be spending my money elsewhere and caution you to do the same.

This pump was ok for a few months and has now totally stopped working and I didn't do my research. Only a 6 month warranty. Money wasted!

A decent pump that is quiet and powerful moving water from the sump, up to a 10 foot waterfall. It runs 10 hours a day in the summer and pulled out and stored in the house during the winter. Still, I only seem to get 3 seasons of life until it dies and a replacement is needed. The optional strainer basket is a must on this pump, otherwise I must pull the pump and clean every few days. With the strainer baskets it will run for weeks before becoming clogged up.

This pump is quiet and pumps the expected quantity of water to my waterfall. I have had good experiences with smaller magnetic drive pumps and expect this one will be the same. I have had problems with seal failures for pumps with direct drive impellers.

This pump failed after less than 2 weeks in an easy service, circulating water in a small pond. I was gravely disappointed since previous purchases of the same pump have done well.

I purchased this pump in May 2016. It has been used only intermittently as the cost of running it is quite high. Well, it has now died, so for the low usage it should have lasted longer. I see other reviewers also comment on it's short life.
