HandiWriter Handwriting Tool (colors may vary)

I like that it works well and my son's grip on his pencil,crayon etc are improving. His teachers find that it works well as it saves them from reminding him to hold his pencil properly while they work on his writing. I am using this along with Occupational Therapy to help him improve his fine motor skills. Worth the purchase of your child needs the extra support.

I ordered this for my five-year-old son who was having some trouble with his fine motor skills, especially handwriting. It was recommended by and OT at his school and it was a great recommendation. He was unable to hold his pencil properly and this really helped. He used it for a few months before he was ready to hold his pencil correctly without it. We haven't looked back. We didn't have a choice of color and we did end up with a purple wrist band with a purple dolphin. Some boys may not appreciate the color purple, but my son didn't care. We only used this at home as the OT gave him one to use at school.I will probably hold on to this until my younger son (almost one year old) is ready to start writing, just in case he needs assistance. It's a great tool.

I tried several grips with my son who has low tone muscles and is hyper flexible. This was just the thing he needed to fix his grip. His hand muscles are not strong, so he was hyper extending his thumb which in turn caused the pencil to point away from his body, resulting in a funky grip. Now that the pencil is positioned properly his thumb gently bends like it should and his writing has improved. He had a little muscle fatigue at the beginning but it faded quickly. Wish we had figured this out a year earlier.

It is a pretty good tool for my son to use. He has autism and his hand writing is large and unfocused. This helps him write more legibly and a bit smaller so that he can stay within the line.

I was very happy to have found this. My son sees OT and after trying all types of things. This Handywriter has really help my son hold a pencil, crayon, pen....anything. It's comfortable and useful plus effective. I have recommend this to everyone who is having a hard time getting their little one to write or hold a pencil correctly. Without the handiwriter my son has to be reminded "fingers" and he will hold the pencil correctly. It's just going to take sometime but the handiwriter has helped out a great deal. I love this product.
