Q: do these work when removing /sanding/ scraping old paint (probably lead based) of of metal and wood items?

These are particulate ONLY so as long as you're not creating vapors from a heat gun on the lead paint, I would think they would be OK. I would use it if I were just scraping or sanding but to be more safe and comply with OSHA, you'd likely have to use one of the VAPOR cartridges.

Q: Will this work in protection from infectious diseases?

Have been reading. Seems P100 works like N100 - the P just means it filters oil and the N means it doesn't. So, a P100 filter will work as well as the N95 one recommended many places. Multiple sources say they filter organic particles and that a virus is a particle. Still won't protect from other than inhalation exposure.

Q: Do these have organic vapor relief

No. These are strictly particulate (i.e., 'dust') filters and provide no protection from organic or inorganic vapors. Google "Selection Guide for 3M Reusable Respirators" for recommendations.

Q: Do I need anything else to connect this to a 7500 series respirator?

i have half mask respirator and it just slides in and make 1/2 turn and it clicks in
