Great product
Excellent condition. Much easier to use than previous models. Slightly larger and the sound quality and speaker facilities are greatly improved. Thoroughly recommend for the older person who cannot cope with smart phones and just want to make and receive calls.

Very simple to use the basic functionality
Functionality:This was bought for my 95 year old mother to replace a ‘soon to be obsolete’ 2g phone. All that is required is the ability to make calls and answer calls and both functions could not be more basic - perfect for a ‘non-technical’ lady of advancing years.

OK, but a bit different to the previous model
My mother in law is 90 and her mobile network started to send messages saying that her phone - a Doro, and the previous model to this one - would soon stop working due to 3G being switched off, so we had no choice but to upgrade. We picked this one as it was the successor to her current phone, was the same size and form factor, and we thought it would be pretty much the same to use, but there are some differences. It's a clamshell phone and is most definitely not a smartphone, so you'll not be able to use apps or even do much online here, so as long as you really just want to be able to use texts and make & receive calls you'll be fine. There's a camera and FM radio (haven't tried these) and an emergency button on the back which, when set up, allows you to send an SOS message with a single push to specific contacts, but again we haven't tried this. The phone comes with a charger and a stand which you can place the handset in when not in use (the charger can plug into this to allow it to charge while in the stand). Battery life seems OK but as always it depends on how much you use the phone, and it seems fairly quick to charge. The screen is large and bright, and clear to read. There is a small screen on the outside of the phone which lights up with an icon showing if a text or call is being received and the name of the person as long as you have them in your contacts. Sounds from the phone are loud, and in use the call audio is clear. The only issue we have with the phone is that it is just that little bit different to use than the old one, so any "muscle memory" has to be forgotten and this can cause confusion for older users if you are switching them from an old handset. We've had a number of occasions where we've had to tell her how to send texts, only to have to go over it again a few days later, and several times when she's called us when trying to delete a text, which is alarming when this happens late at night. It's not that it's difficult to use, it's just that it's that litte bit different to how the old phone was.As is the case these days, the phone comes with minimal instructions in the box - enough to be able to insert your micro-SIM card and battery, charge it up, switch it on, identify the core features and what the buttons do, but that's all, and if you want a longer user guide you can download this from the Doro website.

Very good value, so good that I have purchased 2
I first purchased a Nokia 2720 flip as I have always had Nokia in the past, but the battery and 4g signal was awful. I had already purchased the doro for my wife so reluctantly returned the Nokia because of the issues I had with it. I then decided to purchase the second doro to replace the Nokia and I'm glad to say that I made the right decision and I am very pleased with doro,it's a nice compact easy phone to use, sound is clear, menu system is easy to follow, display is clear and the battery life is brilliant. Also one other bonus feature I would like to mention is that it has a very good quality mp3 player which when connected via Bluetooth to headphones or speakers gives an excellent sound experience, I just inserted an sd memory with music I had downloaded then go into files then select music and it's up and running......GREAT PHONE

Battery Life isn’t great on this phone
Phones brilliant for my nan but compared to her old 3G Doro Phone, this 4G variant doesn’t quite have the same battery life. Great for older people in terms of button size and readability and the panic button on the back is nice and loud in case of emergencies. Make sure to have another battery for this phone.

Not very well designed for operation
This is my third Doro phone and based on this one it will be my last. I have had to change from a Doro 6520 due to the shutdown of 3G . This 6880 is not as easy to setup and as my previous models which were relatively easy. In use there are some features that seem to be of little or no use i.e. My files ,I cannot find anyway to type notes in the folders ,it might be OK for some of the features that I won't use .I normally switch off at night so on power up every time, first screen is language select (why) press OK; next Basic Settings ,need to press Done (why) ;followed by Welcome these two icons will usually be shown in the softkey bar. Do you want to examine them? Need to press NO (why) .Finally I'm at the user screen. Alternatively I have found by playing ,on powerup if you close the flip phone when Language is shown it will go to the user screen when next opened. The predictive text is just as useless as previous models I had so switched off .There does not seem to be any real improvements on earlier designs and a few backward steps been added. Unless you are Technology savvy I would not recommend this model to any one. The only reason I use this type of phone is that it fits in a small pocket and can be used hands free with Bluetooth ear piece when I am either working or driving. Also just to note The Bluetooth will no longer pair with my printer so another fail for me. Just an update a month on of use ,I can now confirm this is the worst phone I have ever had . A smart phone is much easier to use how this could ever be aimed at not so savvy seniors I do not know. It is not a patch on older versions of Doro flip phones. I also have found that the Bluetooth link that I use when working i.e. hands free is prone to dropping out and when powering up usually take 2 attempts to connect.
