Immerse in boiling water for about 30 seconds. Remove and bite down on the mouthpiece until it cools. You may want to trim to fit your mouth better until it is comfortable.

Q: What are the black thin tips on the sides for? i just purchased this and i’m not sure if i should take them out or what their purpose are

These black strips have a pin that goes thru the mouthpiece. While the mouthpiece is being moulded, they kind of keep you from biting too far through the mouthpiece. One the mouthpiece is moulded and cool, then take them out. The space left by the pin makes it more compressible and comfortable, just like the the air bubbles that are manufactured in some athletic shoes.
