However, we have had moderate success using it outdoors. This is what we have done:During the hottest parts of summer we use a much thicker (and more expensive) cover that can only be used when the table is folded. During the times when we will be using it most often we use the Stiga cover; it is so much easier to get on and off then the more expensive one.As I said in my previous review, you need to be very careful when putting this cover on and taking it off. If you do and keep it off during the couple of months when it is REALLY hot or live in a place where it doesn't get that way, you should be able to get at least a year from the Stiga cover. At the price and ease of use, that is a good buy and I would stick with my 4 star rating. I do understand the lower ratings some reviewers give it. So make sure you understand the cover's limitations before buying it.After reading the reviews, I have to say that my expectations were very low. Now that we have been using it for several weeks, taking it off and on, we have not seen any indications of rips or tears. Yes, we are very careful in placing it on the table; perhaps that is a good thing. Considering the price, if it lasts a year or more, I would consider this a definite buy. It stretches somewhat snugly over an open table and upon the first use the corners of the table poked through the very thin and unreinforced material. This is a very poorly made cover. I will continue to use it for as long as it holds up and until i purchase a better cover but I am disappointed.
