This was exactly what I wanted
So,I have been trying to find a canister set that would replace the 70-year-old 4 can steel set we inherited from another family member. It was rusty and dilapidated 5 years ago and I just could not find one with a flower canister big enough to hold a standard 5 lb bag of flour. I know you can also get it in 10 lb bags but you will have to buy two of these or find it on your own to fit 10 lbs. After finding this one and reading the reviews I was discouraged but took a shot anyway.First off one review said the gasket falls off all the time. I think theirs was not seated properly or the design changed after the purchase. This seal goes under a lip in the lid and stays there. It can be removed if you had to and may be a little difficult to put back but after a few minutes you should have it back on. You can feel the lip/groove in the plastic lid with your fingernail, but it is hard to see.I did math calculations to determine the VOLUME of each of my old cans and then converted the cubic inches to fluid ounces. I have a calculator for this conversion, so it was quick.I then took the dimensions for this can (by the way are 7 3/4 diameter by 6 3/4 high) this measurement is for the SS part of the can (the part that holds the flour). It does not include the lid or the hinges or catch that may be causing the many varied dimensions I have seen in reviews. I converted these to fluid oz so I could compare mine to this new can. This can was 1/2 cup larger. Bingo.I then took the dimensions of the OGGI cans I purchased in a four can set and did the same comparisons to my other three cans. The tall can was large enough to replace my sugar can and will hold 4 lbs of granulated sugar. The next size down was enough to hold 2 lbs of brown sugar still in the plastic bag to reduce oxidation of the SS from direct contact with molasses saturated sugar. And the next size down I use for tea bags or cocoa or baking soda or whatever. The smallest of the four will be put to use in the garage.Purchase of the four can set and the large can on its own was almost exactly the same price as the large can and two of the cans offered in the four can set if purchase separately. OGGI should put together a four can set with the large can and leave the smallest can out.As far as the cans being flimsy, I think they are well made, and the hinges and latch are strong enough to do the job intended. I have a metalworking and industrial purchasing background and feel qualified to this opinion.I also understand SS will corrode if put in the proper environment for such, so try to avoid this. One thing that is not a big deal is if the 4 1/2" cans nested together better in the lid to bottom of the can it would be nicer.Hope this helps.

Storage on the go
Does a great job, not insulated and the rubber gasket under the lid can sometimes come loose. I use ut to take dry dog food to work at least 3 days a week in my backpack. The lid does not come undone in my bag. Recommend.

Good container
Its a nice container, looks good, but feels a little cheap. It is bigger around than I expected and barely fits into my cabinet. I had to move stuff to make room. I've had to readjust the gasket a couple times and am worried that eventually it won't seal right. The latch is kind of cheap and may break after a while, but since I am not handling it roughly I'm not too worried. I'd say the price is fair for what I got.I bought it for storing coffee (whole beans). It holds a 26 oz. can of whole beans with plenty of room to spare, but isn't big enough for 2 cans. The beans do stay fresher than when I stored them in the can they came in from the store. They don't dry out. I just wish they made one sized between this one and the next smaller one.

Rusting after short use
I regret buying 2 of these for storing home made ice cream. I don't think these are true stainless steel, as they have rust spots on the inside after only 1.5 months of use. We've only washed with sponge or dishwasher...we don't even own steel wool that would damage the coating on a stainless steel. We even scoop out with wooden spoons. The clasp rings are rusting too. True stainless steel containers should last for wet food storage as well, and dishwashing. My stainless steel heating lunch boxes get wet food and a ton of abuse for over a year, and not a single rust spot. So yeah, this is either not stainless steel at all, and I would not say its food grade. And not dishwasher safe either.

Disappointing!
Came with a broken lid. Didn't recognize it because gasket concealed damage. Obviously no seal! Materials are stainless steel but are marginal quality. If you want a sturdy, long lasting item then keep looking.

Love this brand
I am slowly replacing my 40+ year old Tupperware (probably toxic) with safer alternatives. I have bought many of this particular product in a variety of sizes. I have 2 sets of the variety pack as well as the canisters that are labeled sugar and flour. I also have 3 of the large size that have no labels. So if it isn’t obvious, then I will just say that I really like this product. These canisters are quite reasonably priced and pretty well made. I have had no issues with the lid lining up on any of the canisters.I thoroughly washed each canister prior to use. That is just common sense in my book but if you are a person who just immediately uses something that you have purchased you should wash these prior to use because they do come with a residual of the polish that is used in production. It has a rather pungent smell but washes off with soap and water. The large size easily holds a 3lb bag of coffee or a 5lb bag of flour.
