Did not leave a shine at all
I ended up returning this product. I sprayed a microfiber cloth directly with product and then wiped dashboard and it left streaks that did not disappear by the next day!

Eh
It’s more of a wax not a cleaner

Concerned about the ingredients
Boater's Edge failed to disclose ingredients of this with California's EPA, makes me very nervous about using it or recommending it. I spot tested it, seems to work great, my guess is it's a wax, silicone-base, or water-based treatment. There is no warning about petroleum distillates. My concern is PTFE's (basically Teflon) - I would *not* want to use a Teflon-based product near pets, children, where mist could get in my lungs, etc. This is a huge burden to put on the consumer, I wish the companies would be more transparent. I will add that I've used many other Boater's Edge products, several of which are biodegradable, and have an overall favorable opinion of the company.

Works well for boat and car
I've used Boater's Edge, 303 and Armor All over the years and honestly the results seem to be about the same. After trying to clean my boat seats (they are always such a mess) the best I could I applied this and it gave them a nice shine. I do worry about using it on the hull though and having it get into the lake water so I haven't tried that. It seems to hold up well with use - the seats don't seem as dirty this summer. It did a nice job on the seats of my car too. I used one of 303's product to clean the seats and then this to protect them. After I give my PVC deck railings a good cleaning before the winter, I'll give this a try and see how it holds up with the snow and ice. Come spring-time the railings are usually a mess so it'd be great if this helped to keep the crud off.I still have plenty left in the bottle so I will be using this for years to come.

Good on all surfaces, Not just for marine use & "Made in the USA"!
This is a lot like Armor All but I like the way it smells better. It has a pleasant, fresh fruity, smell. It applies easily, like I said earlier, it smells VERY good. Works good as a light cleaner in the sense you can use it to wipe off the dust while applying. How well it protects as opposed to other protectants only time will tell but this is very easy to apply. I prefer its scent to the other leading name brand in this are that we are all familiar with, Armor All. It can be used on just about every material in most cars or vehicles, not just for boats! The MNFR states that it is:"Ideal for protecting interior surfaces such as dashboards, seats & more....Interior / exterior UV protection for vinyl, fiberglass, rubber, metal, gelcoat, carbon fiber, plastic & even finished leather! It enhances the shine & appearance of nyl treated surfaces!"Wow! and last but not least it IS "Made in the USA"!

A good cleaner
Boater's EDGE really pay attention to what matters with their products. This comes shipped in a good box with the sprayer separate from the bottle itself so that it actually makes it to you unbroken and un-spilt (is that a word? I do know how to spell the swears I use when a bottle arrives half dumped out in the package though - lol) They also make their products smell quite nicely, almost fruity instead of the unpleasant chemy smell other cleaners and products have. I find that a nice refreshing touch.I've so far used this on vinyl, leather, faux wood grain, plastic and metal and I've been pleased with the results. It cleans off all sorts of crud with little need for excessive elbow grease, and leaves a nice but not glossy shine. It really does seem to keep dust and dirt away far better than other products like ArmorAll. Only time will tell on how well it does with UV protection. So far though, I'm happy with using this and plan on keeping it in the cleaning toolbox for all my vehicles.

A Southern Essential
I am very happy with this product: Car interiors, dashboards on cars and boats, boat interiors and cabins. If you are considering buying this product, remember that it is not a cleaner. It is UV protection. Knowing that fact should help you decide whether to buy this product and where it should be used. Obviously, you don't want to use it in an area not exposed to sunlight. To use this product, use a microfiber cloth and, after cleaning the surface with another product, spray this on the microfiber cloth (in narrow areas where spray might be messy) or in areas where confining the spray isn't necessary, just spray it on the surface to be protected and smooth or rub it on. The product has a fresh scent that almost reminds me of pineapples. If you live in Florida like me, then UV protection is essential because surfaces break down in our intense sun rays. Car dashboards, boats, even outdoor plastic tables and chairs need UV protection down here and this product has broad enough application to be very useful.

Works well...how will it stand up in the sun over time?
Boater's EDGE spray protector is like many other UV protectors I have used. It goes on easily, provides a clean low luster finish that makes the treated surface look newer. It has a slight almost fruity scent that I find pleasant---which is good because I always try to use unscented products when I can.It says it can be used on a variety of surfaces. My best test is on our hot tub cover that gets sun all day long. It takes a beating. On one half of the cover, I used a previously reviewed product that did a good job but after a month needs to be redone. Pretty common for this type of product. This test was side-by-side of the older product and the Boater's EDGE. They looked the same. They both picked up some "oxidation" from the vinyl cover and left a renewed look. So it looks like the proof will be in which one holds up the best in the summer months of sun. Whichever one does, that's the one I will use.
