The build quality is impressive!
The build quality is impressive, with a sturdy and premium feel that ensures durability. The boom arm is very flexible and easy to adjust, allowing me to position my microphone perfectly for both recording and streaming. One of the standout features is its cable management system, which keeps my workspace neat and organized. The arm’s sleek design and smooth movement make it a pleasure to use. It holds my microphone securely without any wobbling.

High quality design and sleek looks
I didn't want to spend too much on a desktop microphone arm, but the white Elgato Wave was on offer so I took a chance based on its stylish white looks.I use a Rode NT1-A kit with a suspension cradle and pop shield, and this arm supports it all fine. The total weight of my mic equipment is approx 1kg.The Elgato arm is very well designed. It has a clever removable magnetic plate system which allows you to quickly conceal a thick XLR cable out of sight with ease. I also like the arm's low profile design which I find much tidier to look at that a standard tall arm. The matte white powder-coated metal finish is excellent. The rotational bearings are good and allow many options for orientation, adjustment and fold-down storage, although the overall height reach is obviously quite limited due to its design. If you need an overhead mic, you should go with an upright design instead, but this low-profile design is ideal for attaching to the back edge of your desk (out of the way) and folding the mic towards you when needed.I use lots of professional broadcast equipment and despite my reservations, have been very pleased with this so far.

Works like a dream
It works so good don’t block my screen ever , has a tidy cable management strip inside the arm so looks super clean on my desk for the quality of the product I would say it’s a grate value for money very easy to set up basically plug and play , holds my mic were I need it with the adjustable cogs, no mic drops here and no movement on the desk once screwed on all in one of my top buys this year

Engineered to a satisfying perfection.
This has to be the best mic arm I have ever used, its designed soooo well its smooth but not so smooth to hinder the use, it has an adjustable butterfly fixing on the joints which allow you to adjust the resistance in the arm joints to your preference from super slick to a velvety resistance so once you have used it a few times it kinda grooves itself so only the parts that need to move move and the rest just stays as is which means you can quickly get it from its resting place and bring it swiftly into position with a confidence and certainty it will remain and not slowly sag like the cheaper ones do.Another nice addition is the magnetic cover that runs over the arms allowing you to neatly tuck cables in there and shut them away, again the covers fit really nice and have a staisfying snap and weight that keeps them in place - the magnetic charge is just enough so it stays but is also easy enough to remove again. In conclusion the whole thing is just well made and well thought out - you can tell that it has been designed with thought and testing not just put together of a blueprint. If you are on the fence get off it and buy this you wont regret it.

Great addition for an under-monitor setup!
I was looking for a low profile mic arm that could sit under my raised monitors when not in use. Nothing else on the market offered this to me; everything was big, loud, and required lots of space above and around to work effectively. This Elgato mic arm is perfect for my use case. When not in use, it sits - rather inconspicuously - under my monitors, without taking ownership of the desk space thereof; I have room for a Nest Hub, my smartwatch stand, and my Qi charger to sit under it, and I can still extend it out for use without any issues. Some of you may be concerned about the price point; is it really worth ~£90? The short answer: yes.The long answer? Most of the mic arms you'll see below this price point are made of skinny tubes of thin, cheap metal, with stiff, cheap springs, and wrapped in thin, cheap plastics. Even "big brand" names will charge MORE than this for the same cheap tat. These options will break, even with the most careful movement, unless you put them in one position and never move them at all. On top of that, every other mic arm will loom over you like a tower.Nothing about the Elgato mic arm feels cheap. It's made from thicker metal in all the right places. Even the covers for the cable trench are metal. Where plastic is used, it's thick, sturdy, and coloured to match the metal; you wouldn't know it was plastic at a glance. The mic arm movement is smooth, yet I never feel like the slightest knock will shunt it out of place (which cannot be said for the cheap build options). Most importantly, it's understated; this arm makes decent mics pop out, and not-so-decent mics look significantly better than they otherwise would. All in all, this is one of the best purchases I have made in recent years. If you're considering this, the only issue you should have is whether you're happy to meet the investment of the high price point. My only guidance here would be: you spend it now, on this mic arm, all in one go, and can have confidence it'll last a lifetime... or you spend more over a longer period on an endless cycle of replacing the cheaply made alternatives with more cheaply made alternatives.

What a wonderful mic arm
I bought this as my last mic arm snapped and was terrible quality. Upgrading to this has been a game changer. It's so sturdy and well made, it's low profile so it no longer gets in my way. I love this mic arm so much.

Fancy, practical and worths it
TLDR;Totally worth it, you definitely get a very high-quality product and will make your setup look super clean and will save a lot of space on your desk when you are not using the mic.---------It may not be a very necessary accessory but once you use it you can't live without it. The very slim design makes it very practical and convenient and definitely saves a lot of space. I'm a developer and use it (with a HyperX quad cast S) while working for meetings and programming to free up space on my desk and find very convenient that whenever I need to speak and type at the same time the mic can be in front of me kind of floating and capturing my voice while I can type on my keyboard without cables or devices in the middle. Won't say it makes me more productive but definitely makes my working experience better. I originally bought it just to save space and because I was told that an arm for my mic would help reducing the sound of my keystrokes during meetings, but it had many more benefits. The esthetics are another big factor, it definitely looks and is a high-quality product. People have noticed it during meetings not because they actually see the arm but because either the setup looks very clean or because they don't see where the mic is.Extra points would be that it looks very fancy and pro when the camera shows how you move the arm.

Excellent!
Bought this because Rode refuses to make a riser for their PSA1 Mic Boom to get the mics up over top the monitors. Well, this is awesome! Very sturdy, strong, flexible and adjustable. Fits to a thick desk. Really well made. Way to go Elgato!

amazing boom arm
The media could not be loaded. overall good boom arm, looks clean and build quality is good, only concern is that it drops down in different positions, but i bet that would fix if i tighten up the screws.
