4 stars because I’ll be honest:1) I haven’t actually had a chance to play around with this much yet, &2) When I opened it up to fawn over all of the beautiful pens & brushes it came with, one of them (the gold one) leaked when I took the lid off of it — it had actually already been leaking so much into its lid that when I opened it, it kind spilled out onto my other beautiful pens a little bit. Luckily, I hadn’t removed the brown wrapping paper from the package yet so the ink wasn’t able to leak onto anything that couldn’t be wiped clean.That said, I am SO stoked on this set. I’m all about penmanship & writing things by hand so my fiancé bought this for me for Christmas & I love it already. Many of the pens/brushes I’ve seen recommended in my local art store so I know they’re high quality. I also actually already use one of the micro brush brands’ pens to journal with & since I found it more than 7 years ago, it’s the only one I’ll use if I can help it. So yeah, great choice of tools.The only other note I have is kind of a back-handed compliment: my fiancé & I share an Amazon account so when the seller(s) emailed to see how I was enjoying things & let me know how much they appreciated my business, they actually spilled the beans on my Christmas gift (my email is the one assigned to our account). So, while I found their message thoughtful I was also a little bummed to have my surprise ruined. Still, nice touch & I’m sure otherwise it would have been much appreciated.Please let me know if you found this review helpful as I rely heavily on others’ reviews of online products when making my own purchases as well 🙂.

I could have gone anywhere and bought colored sharpies. Not worth the price.

Bought this as a gift and she loved it! Comes with a variety of pens that are great as a beginners set. Also comes with some tracing paper and a couple of sheets for the perfect intro to calligraphy! Very nicely packaged as well!

I'm a beginner, and found this to be a good introduction to calligraphy. This set included six pens (one with two tips), providing a variety of tip widths and colors. I really liked the short "Brush Lettering Kit" book because it introduced all of the pens and what they were useful for, and the explanation that some of the pens are designed for larger lettering projects (sign), and some for smaller projects (envelopes, letter-writing) I even used one of the pens to get a fine, straight line in one of my painted pictures. Other materials include cards with illustrations for practice, showing upper-case and lower-case letters. Additional cards have suggestions for practice, and have brush lettering drills. Lots of useful materials in a small, well-designed package. Great for a gift, or for yourself.

I ordered this kit for myself for Christmas. I wanted a simple kit with everything I needed to get started with hand lettering. This kit was beautifully packaged. It comes with a all the basics needed to get started immediately. It would be a great gift for someone who likes bullet journaling, art projects, vision boards, or planners. I started hand lettering as a way of dealing with anxiety. It's well worth the price. Buy one for you and a friend.

I loved this kit has everything you need plus an explanation of what each included pen/ marker is good for. Even suggests which one to start with as a practicing beginner. As a very helpful gift it includes a tracing paper notebook to practice. Also forgot to mention, this comes in very nice packaging if you were to Purchase as a gift. I loved it and not regret one bit this purchase!!!

I bought this for myself as a new hobby to try and I am so happy with the purchase! I’ve gone to stores looking for calligraphy pens but there are so many kinds and brands- I love that the pens in this package are hand chosen by the owners/artists. I immediately started the drills, such a great product and gift idea.

I have never done any lettering and was hesitant to order the kit. I felt as though it would be too much “stuff” for a beginner. I was certainly wrong! This kit far exceeded my expectations! The attention to detail and care is glaring from the moment you open the package. Once opened all the information provided is absolutely helpful. The background information they provide in the booklet should not be skipped! The practice cards are detailed and helped develop my skills a lot. I ordered this wanting a new calming hobby to relax my mind and this kit from Wildflower has definitely drawn me into lettering. I’ll be ordering other kits from them in the future.
