Acorn Classics Commodore 64 Exposed

Great book, brought back some great memories!

This book was originally written back in the early 1980s for the Commodore 64. Back then for me it was a in dispensable book in programming, knowing what the registers memory addresses and even machine language did, and gave me information on how to stack programs in memory, yes, you can load more than one program On your Commodores C64 and random as one.Now in 2020 we have THE64 Mini and Maxi, clones of Commodore 64, and again, this book is indispensable for anybody who wants to understand how their computer works, Including language, hardware, system functions and how memory is used (very important if you want to stack several programs into memory, you need to know how basic is stored within your machine zone memory system).It is an exact reprint of the book published back in the early 1980s, and it applies today to the new machines out now, or for those lucky enough to be able to buy an original Commodore 64 or still have theirs from back when it was available up until the early a1990s.As a computer scientist since the mid-1970s, this is one of the few books that I consider a must have for anyone who owns an original Commodore 64 or the new THE6 for computers.

This book is indispensable for programmers. It has all of the charts/data etc. you need and easy to follow directions with examples. i will note however, it really isn't for an absolute beginner. You should have some knowledge of programming otherwise you might be overwhelmed by it. For a novice programmer(or advanced) it's simply everything you need in one book.

I was expecting to receive one of the best books about C64 there are, full of code in Basic & ASM. Instead I've got a book with (more or less) correct cover but inside it is a completely different book - "Doctor S and the great diamond escape". If this is a joke then I definitely don't get this kind of sense of humour. It's best to just avoid it. All week of waiting to get this (see the video). Pity this was my first buy from Amazon when it recently opened in Poland.

Si vous avez acheté la réplique du C64 ou que vous possédez la vraie machine mais pas son manuel (qui était un modèle du genre comme il n'en existe plus) ce petit livre vous sera très vite indispensable si vous voulez vous lancer dans sa programmation. En effet pas de "point and click" ni d'environnement intégré sur cette machine d'époque. Tout se code à la main et le basic cède rapidement la place aux peeks et pokes à des adresses stratégiques que l'on invente pas. La littérature moderne sur le sujet n'est pas pléthorique et ce livre possède un bon rapport qualité-prix.
