Worked great
I just bought two of these for two desktop computers running Windows 11 that didn't have sound cards. I used one with external powered speakers. The other with headphones. Both worked fine. Sound was good. All I had to do was plug it into the computer and then plug the speaker and headphone jacks in. No software was required.

Works as advertised, simple plug and play works.
I got this video card to enhance my pc's sound quality temporarily until I could afford a high end internal card and it works great. First of all it makes my speakers louder, I don't have to turn up the volume as high. The sound quality is better, more deeper base and much more clear. Bottom line, this product works, but perhaps not as well as a high end sound card.

Fantastic Great Sounding product thats priced right!
I'm very impressed with this product as the sound is so much better than I expected!I had a customer with a high end streaming PC that failed and was changed out with a replacement PC but the new PC had no on board audio out so I decided to try this unit based on price, reviews and the fact I could get it quick with Amazon Prime and get my customer back online ASAP! And the fact I have had good luck with this brand over the years with PC speakers and such so I tried it.I'm blown away how much better the sound is vs me using the old built in 3.5mm PC's audio out! Its a huge better sound improvement! I only need the audio out so I have not tried the microphone input but is nice to have if I ever need it.I'm a pro sound tech on my day job and a audiophile at night so I know great sound! this is GREAT SOUND! Was plug -n-play no drivers or software needed and even though I did not buy this unit looking for great sound that is exactly what I now have ! Fantastic Great Sounding product thats priced right!

Great tube-like sound. Warm bass tones. Not overdone either. Decent enough mids and highs.
I love the sound of a well played bass guitar. Don't you? I think all the great bands had great bass guitarists. McCartney. Greenwood. Novoselic. The list goes on and on. Many of today's indie bands have great bass playing/composition. I think too many DACs these days are aiming for vocal clarity, detail digging and things that focus on the mid and higher frequencies of music. I like DACs like this one that can really make the beginning of Come Together by the Beatles sound fun and engaging, cuz that has to be one of the greatest opening bass riffs of all time, right? In fact, I use that song to test my audio equipment. This DAC delivers beautiful well-placed bass tones. Not the thump, thump part. The deep Dmmmm part.. That part of the song is placed more prominently and accurately than even the sacred, Dragonfly Black, which I also tested. The Black has better soundstage, but again, only if you're just not that into bass guitars. The sound might be a little distorted, but what do you expect from a DAC powered by device USB hosting? Even the Black is distorted (on the low end). It's not plugged into the wall, so... And at least this one doesn't have some stupid LED light wasting your battery or hurting performance or both.Considering all this, I LOVE THIS DAC!! It improved the sound of my Samsung Galaxy Tab A Android tablet that I have connected to a Tivoli Audio One by AUX Cable and and OTG cable (necessary or it won't work). The volume comes out a little low, but I can boost the volume on the Tivoli enough to a fun or even slightly obnoxious level. WIthout a powered amp/speaker situation like this, though, you might find this disappointing. The company does, however, make it clear that this item is NOT INTENDED FOR ANDROID/iOS. So that it works at all this way and this well makes me appreciate it and not be too picky about it's flaws.Hope that was helpful. Oh. AND IT ONLY COSTS LIKE TWENTY BUCKS! You can get five of these for one Black. I'm gonna get a second one just in case something happens to this one. Why not? So cheap!

Small device, solves a big problem. Good job Creative.
I had issues with my computer's audio output port on the back on the computer. I have some Bose desktop speakers attached to my computer and my headphones connected to the Bose Speakers. I was getting constant electromagnetic interference through the headphones and was super frustrating. I knew it was the audio port on the motherboard of the computer. I bought this simple little device, plugged it into one of the USB3.0 ports on my computer, then plugged my Bose desktop speakers into it and them my headphones into the speakers. Works perfectly. Noise is gone. Just pure sound. God job Creative.

Amazing value for the price
I have this connected to a USB port on my Samsung G8 monitor. It automatically switches for any input and outputs to the same 2.1 speakers. The DAC is very high quality and has literally no distortion. It was plug and play and immediately worked, it's very small and sleek.

Doesn't work with an XLR to 3.5MM adapter...if you don't need that feature, this is a great value.
While doing some recording in Audacity on my Dell Laptop, I notice some popping on the audio track every now and then. Someone told me a higher sample rate might help that. This product (Creative Labs Sound Blaster Play! 3 External USB Sound Adapter) looked great and Creative Sound Blaster products have always served me well.Plugged into the laptop and it worked perfectly.I loved the price and the 192khz sample rate BUT if you are planning to use a studio quality microphone (I'm using the Heil Sound PR40) that uses an unbalanced XLR adapter...you have the choice of using the mike for input OR headphones for output...but the two jacks won't fit into this Sound Blaster product at the same time. This is NOT a Sound Blaster problem, but rather the adapter's 3.5mm jack is too big. Unfortunately, that's not an option for me. All the other adapters I saw look like they use the same size connector.I've ordered a more expensive Creative Product (OK, it was only $10.00 more) that came with a dongle. Gave up some sample rate (96 khz versus 192khz) but at least it came with the dongle adapter so I can use it.Hopefully.Fingers crossed.
