I used this with a tatimi mat on the floor. Certainly on the firm side. Slept well, and found the futon comfortable. The fabric is nice and it folds up well. Light weight so it’s easy to move around and set outside to air out.

After a few weeks in, it feels pretty good. I haven't had any issues with the futon mattress. It is thinner compared to the other futon I used before, but it works fine.

The quality is great, but it’s way too thin for me. My Japanese mother looked at it and started laughing, saying it’s like the osembe futon (which means cracker) she used to sleep on when she was little. If it was twice as thick, which I thought it was according to the photos, it’d be Great.

The actual product is thinner than the video / photo on the site. Not comfortable at all. We ended up having to find duvets and many blankets to put on top to make it comfortable for my 12 years old to sleep on. I don't recommend this product. I'm now looking into a blow up mattress for my guests and sleep over.
