Some Useful Info on a Hard-to-Find Topic
Information on how to defend against a knife attack is hard to find, so I appreciated this book. All the different counters for knife attacks from various angles of attack seem impractically numerous for most people to master though. I did latch on to the jamming technique that he demonstrates though, as it can be used pretty effectively (based on the experimenting I did with my training partners) for an attack from any angle. Unfortunately, the book did not suggest much in the way of possible follow-on techniques to use after jamming, but I was able to figure something out by experimenting.

Fantastic
I have personally learned form Guro David in real life, he is an amazing instructor. Guro Dave never fails to provide in depth knowledge into the years of experience he has under his belt and this book is no exception.

Don't recommend
I'd give it no stars. A ton of pictures with little flow or substance.

Great knife training resource
Great addition to the karambi to book. The book provides many drills and practice to aid in your knife skills. I also like that it has links to his youtube videos to complement the book.

An awesome knife system.
This is the best tool I have seen where one can actually teach themselves to defend against a brutal knife attack. Many books teach you how to evade or block a knife strike. The information in this book teaches you to strip the assailant of their weapon and to react with both lethal and non-lethal force, frequently breaking their elbows and wrists in the process. I especially like the fact that the author offers free enhanced visual aids on youtube that go hand in hand with the book. I love the fact that I can get certified as an instructor through the books and DVD's as well. I purchased 3 copies for friends and family. two thumbs way up!!!

Very good
Most martial instruction is cookie cutter and unrealistic. It's single arm attack with huge telegraphing. In the knife world it doesn't happen that way. Blades are meant to be felt not seen. 90% of the attacks start off with the leading hand grabbing the victim. While this book does not answer the question of how to stop this type of attack it does address it from a real viewpoint. The book covers footwork which most do not, and it emphasizes over and over how lethal a knife encounter really is by stating awareness and escape as the first line of defense. The book is a quick down and dirty with great explanations and good pictures. It offers a real perspective without some new age martial mumbo garbage that leaves the reader with a feeling of false confidence. It cuts to the bone, pun intended, of how brutal a knife encounter is and what one should look to do if escape is not an option.

Super Buch

OPTIMUM FOR KNIFE FIGHTING AFICIONADOS
Another gem in the author’s work! A lot of real and proven tips about knife combatives, good pics (only too small, imho, but clear anyway), and a efficient prose. Looking for volume II! Great job, mr. Seiwert!

Good for Reference and Beginners
Good book, informative. Obviously videos or live instruction is better but this provides a good base and reference.
