Well produced book
12 year old Grandson put in a request for this book as he is a whiz at computing. Frankly I couldn't understand a word of it but he was delighted!

this book is amazing for beginners
My university told everyone on my computing course to buy the book, that the course wouldn't make much sense without it, and they were not exaggerating. This book breaks down all the elementary C features you need to know in a reference manner, whilst also including a practical manner of tutorials of how to perform specific and common tasks. Also the book contains lots of images and is colourful. This book is essential for anyone new to C or needing a refresher on it. It makes programming in C so much easier.

Content is clear and generally well written but poor support \ code download \ errata
The content of the book is well laid out and easy to follow. It is also extremely well structured and each lesson builds logically on previous lessons and as such on the book alone I'd give it 4.5Where it falls down is that not all the code works and sometimes even when it does there are warnings which are left unexplained and unfixed. I've used this as part of the learning process but there is no straight forward way to let the author know of errors; there is no errata that I can find and when you look to download the code it is a set of text files in a zip file. For a developer book I would at least expect a github repository and the ability to provide feedback that way especially as they expect you to use Visual Studio 2022 Community Edition for the course. It is a solid introduction for someone with no (or very little) coding background who is willing to troubleshoot their own code without assistance.

A good starting point and quick reference
This book is easy to use, just like it says on the cover. It teaches you the basics and makes it easy to find topics that you may want to review of refer to. I used this first then moved onto K&R (the C book). I still use it though for quick reference to topics. The price is great too.
