Bought this unit in May of 2023 (now August of 2024). Not very durable. Easy to cut with scissors and install. Takes 2 people to remove or use a roller (store out of the sun). Does a great job heating the pool during the Memorial Day to Labor Day pool season here in Northern California. Helps reduce evaporation significantly.Expect 2 or 3 season lifespan (ignore the warranty unless you like debating). The seam split in ours after 15 months, but we can still use it. Need to replace it at the very first sign of the plastic shredding or the bubbles letting go to protect your pool pump.

This new cover replaces the exact same cover from the same company. Did not try to have it replaced with warranty for defective manufacture as all the reviews showed the company generally did not support the warranty guidelines. Our cover had the seam on one side come apart almost the entire length. I will have to admit the bubbles were still in very good shape for a cover that was 29 months old. For me the bubbles on other covers in the past have broken down much quicker. I was able to cannibalize the old cover to make a cover for our hot pool so not a complete loss. So this is really a review of the old cover! These covers do work and keep the pool warm, clean, and certainly keep down evaporation. Just always roll it up when not using and keep it out of the sun when off the pool. Don't drag the cover over the cement as it comes off as that accelerates bubble breakdown.

The cover allows us to get more use of our swimming pool. Up in Michigan we are limited the amount of warm weather that we get. It keeps the pool at 75 to 80°. You don’t have to have a roller we just place it right on the water.

I guess it's time to reinvest in a new solar cover. This one lasted 2+ years but has now split all the way end to end. We used a roller type device to wind it up the first two seasons. But this year we have been folding it to one end. I may try a heavier mill on my next one. (Always stored correctly when not in use, but the sun beats it up.) NOTE; It is an excellent Solar heater. The sun in idaho is intense and the water gets well above 100 just under the cover before the pump goes on. We use it on a Bestway above ground pool. I replaced the pump the third year and made all the difference! Retiring it as it is disintegrating. Average cost for use, $6.62 a month or$79.48 per season.
