Seems to help
Seems to help... My main complaint is its tough to slip over the track. Other than that cheap and seems to help.

Excellent value, function well.
These function as-advertised and cant beat the price for what you get. As some of the reviews say, the thumb screws loosen over time so beware. Otherwise a great way to safely enjoy the cool night air. I pulled as hard as I though I should and could not budge my window with two of these installed.

Works quite well
I bought this for the windowsill on the third floor of my apartment. The window can be opened from the outside if a person climbs the pipe right next to me window.I bought three. One is to secure the right-most pane, and then the middle pane is latched to the left-most pane (which is next to the pipe).I put TWO of these on the left-most pane; one stacked next to the other. There's no WAY someone with one hand hanging awkwardly on the pipe would be able to push the slightly ajar window open.Quite secure, I like the double sized, dual-screw scheme.

Does what it is suppose to do!
When I am away from home I wanted to securely lock my sliding emergency egress basement window and I used 2 of these window locks, 1 for the bottom and 1 for the top. They work perfectly! The rubber pad helps from scratching the frame and in combination with the 2 thumb screws, holds very well. If someone wants to come in, they will have to brake the window which will set off the security system I have installed. Holds and fits much better than the smaller, single thumb screw version.

Will not work on all windows
There are no instructions included so you are sort of left on your own to figure it out. I know, it is a window lock so what is there to figure out. Well, our window are vinyl and this lock really looks like if used as I think would actually damaged the windows frames.

A little small but still does the trick.
I bought this for my sliding door. I had to take out the rubber part and it was still a bit too small to fit on the sliding door track. You have to angle it just right. It does the trick but still a bit small.

It may work
It may work on some sliders, but it didn't work on either the ship's sliding door to the balcony or one of the sliding doors to our deck at home. It did work on the basement slider but I'm not worried about kids falling off the deck there as it's ground level.
