Great size to both travel with (even backpacking) and actually play on. Pieces are light but solid. Everything packs up into the bag, but the board will come out creased and need to be deliberately flattened before play.

I did not expect to like this nearly as much as I do.I signed up for the Chess University Lite program, and I needed a small analysis board with which to work on the problems provided in the videos. This was meant solely for that purpose. It is the perfect size for a quick game with my roommate, and even though we have a great number of other boards, from time to tournament size, this is the one we keep pulling out. It's small enough to play anywhere, and big enough to play comfortably. I love it so much, I bought another one in blue.The board folds into quarters to stick in the bag and lays flat when pulled out. I tend to rest it on a small drawing board when playing on the couch.The chessmen are sturdy enough that they have taken a tumble or two onto the floor without damage. They seem of a kind with the roll up tournament boards.

The size is exactly what I was looking for as my tournament set took all the space on my study desk. Its the right size for both analysis and casual play. I would imagine an opponent would be comfortable playing on this if it was a last resort at a club tournament. The only cons are the pieces are too light. (I plan to put some weight in, since they are hollow to like half height) and the mat is a lower quality than tournament vinyl. I would actually pay a bit more if they seller throws in silicon.

The board is a small version of a regular club vinyl chess board. It fits very nicely in small places like a coffee table. The pieces are small, light and sturdy. They look just like regular club pieces. It's easy to identify each piece at a glance. The pieces are easy to maneuver on the board without fumbling around or knocking them over. There are only one queen of each color, which seems standard for sets of this size and cost. The pouch has plenty of room for the pieces. The board fits too but you have to fold it. If you don't want to crease the board you can just roll it up separately, and this is what i do. I use this set to follow along with chess books and analyze games. It would also work well as a travel set, or to use at a desk at work. Im very happy with this set and think its a great value.

The vinyl board is nice and the right size for my needs. The piece set didn't come with an extra queen for each side and the carrying case is too big for the pieces but not big enough for the board unless it's folded which is a bad way to store a vinyl board. Not bad but could be better.

Small set & board. If you cut off the edge of the board, it folds & fits in the green bag too [Folding is OK for short periods, like while actually in transit. If you leave it folded long it will crease]. This, plus a thin chess book and I have something for the downtime when travelling. It would be nicer for use if the pieces were heavier but then it's also heavier in your backpack when wandering around airports. I would not use it to play as pieces are small and get knocked over easily. For side analysis at home it is OK but I use a small [2.5" king] weighted wood set for that and it is more pleasurable. Price fluctuates between 4.95 and 20 dollars. At the lower price end it is a terrific addition to take while travelling.

Perfect size as a side board to explore various lines or for games on small tables. I just wish heavier-weighted pieces were available.
