Playmobil Knight Rider - K.I.T.T.

This is a fantastic toy that would also be right at home with adults who are fans of the show. Playmobil have done a fantastic job here, and it's clear that they got the right people to work on this project. I bought it for my daughter, who's watching a friend restore a KITT replica, so she wanted to have the same car as he's got. The presentation of the product is really well done, with a nice unboxing experience, a manual that contains a little information about the show, three characters, Devon's desk, Bonnie's work area, and of course, KITT - who talks! Playmobil have done such a good job here, just like they did with Doc Brown's DeLorean from Back to the Future. The only niggle we have is that it's sometimes difficult to get KITT to talk - mostly because the button you press to make him talk isn't really a button. We've found this a bit hit and miss, but overall this is a fantastic toy that pays a huge amount of respect to a classic show from the 80s. The fact that KITT can talk, has a detailed cockpit, and an animated scanner is just the icing on the cake. I was lucky enough to get this at a significant discount, at around £35. At the time I didn't realise it was discounted, but considered that a reasonable price for a (relatively) small toy. However, the normal price is significantly higher, and while I can understand why this is the case (Playmobil took a big gamble making a product that's in a bit of a niche), I find it hard to believe it'd be purchased just for kids alone at that price. The normal price of around £90 puts it squarely in the realm of collectors or those with money to burn. Having said all that though, it's a great product. Playmobil did a fantastic job (it's clear that whomever they got to work on this were huge fans of the show), and I have no regrets. Thank you for doing something different, Playmobil! Now all I need are Street Hawk and Airwolf!

I've always wanted a model of KITT but all the 1:18 scale models out there are so expensive its probably cheaper to buy a real 1982 trans am for the greedy prices people are asking, But this model popped up recently and for the price you cant go wrong imo, not only do you get the car that is a very good faithful recreation, but you also get the cast members in cute figurines from the show, Overall i'm very happy and it brings back alot of childhood memories, Thank you Playmobil for doing such a great job on the model

Overall, this is a great product from Playmobil, who have done a good job here. The car has a good sculpt and sturdiness. It does have a reasonable resemblance to the on screen 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am, in knight rider. The working scanner light is spot on - they have paid attention to detail and nailed it. The light up voice module on the iconic dash, and actual voice of KITT is also included. A simple touch of KITT's hood will activate the lights and sounds. The scanner sound, rotating license plate and flip up head lights are also a nice additional touch. The tyres are a good quality rubber and the car itself is moulded in a robust matt-black plastic. The roof is also detachable, allowing access to the interior of the car and the dash is reproduced decently, with pre-applied stickers for the KITT's displays. Decals for the rear brake lights have also been nicely applied. You also get a grappling hook which can be attached to the bottom of the car plus numerous accessories, including Michael, Bonnie and Devon, reproduced in traditional Playmobil form. Also included is Devon's desk, chair, phone and Bonnie's tool box, computer station, monitor, clipboard and Michael's communication wrist watch. The paint scheme is a standard matt-black rather than glosss, which gives it a cheap, plasticky look. The interior details apart from the dash are very minimal. The sound effects are not very loud either and there is no button for the flip up head lights, you really need to dig your nails in.

I’d probably enjoy playing with this but bought for a playmobil, 80s film/tv loving boy who loved it.

Very well made, easy to assemble & kitt really sounds like the original. Lovely attention to detail & my son really enjoys playing with the set. Playmobile did a very good job with this set

Just finished assembling this KITT car from Playmobil and it’s really nice! Very good detail and love the voice functionality of the car. I have a couple of Knight Rider collectibles in my collection, and this one is the “crown jewel” of that collection!
