Wasn't aware is was 2nd party purchase
I don't think it works as it is supposed to. Lid doesn't allow it to come to pressure.

Had some cracked plastic on machine, since it is labeled retrofitted I assume that goes with territory......has a small dent as well but that may have happened in shipping. The price was righteous so I accepted it as a cost of doing business.....Dr Landon

Improperly assembled product. Edit: fixed myself. It's OK, I guess.
The product arrived with a wonky bottom. It sits at an angle. This doesn't appear to be the sort of thing that could happen during shipping; it looks like the bottom was not put on properly. You can see the plastics fit that should be on the inside is visible on the outside. It was misaligned when fitted.I will update my review when I receive a replacement product.Edit: Added more photos. Fixed typo.Edit: I ended up fixing it myself. It wasn't that hard. It only required one Phillips screwdriver to take the bottom off and place it back correctly. I'm not sure if this was a product flaw or a seller flaw, so I'll try to minimize how much this impacts my review. The height is just short enough that it's awkward to fit quart-sized canning jars. The gizmos on the lid hit the top of the jars, and the lid/jars have to be positioned so that the lid will fit. Since the canning feature was one of the main reasons I got this particular pressure cooker, I consider this a significant design flaw. It wouldn't have been hard to make it an inch taller; a six-quart cooker should be able to fit three quart-sized jars with no problem. The different modes have different cook min-max times. Most modes go up to a maximum of an hour. The canning button goes up to two hours, but it doesn't preheat (i.e. the timer starts counting immediately). This is annoying because it's not super flexible; granted, the two-hour canning option should cook most foods (it ends up being about an hour and a half cooking time after it reaches temperature). The slow cook feature can run for many hours, but it's just that - slow cooking. I'm able to cook dried beans for two hours with the canning setting to make them mashable, but I'd at least like to option to make them super soft (without slow cooking for many hours, that is). This time limit reduces convenience when doing unusually intense cooking. The delay function only goes to 24-hours. This will be fine most of the time, but it means that you can't prepare food in the morning and have it cook in the evening the next day. The keep warm feature may suffice for this use on most occasions. The beep is loud an annoying. Every time you press a button, as well as when it's done cooking, it makes a beep. This behavior is similar to a microwave, but the volume is somewhat obnoxious. I have roommates, and I don't feel comfortable using this late at night for fear of disturbing them. It can also be startling since I have it nearby (in my room). If it just beeped when it was done, then I could just set a timer for slightly longer than the cook time and shut it off; it wouldn't be a big deal. However, since it beeps every time you press a button, there is no way to avoid the noise. It makes sense to beep loudly when done, not when adjusting the settings. All in all, it works. It's lacking in features (particularly flexibility in cooking time). It's annoying that quart jars need to be correctly positioned in order to fit. And it's a bit loud in my my taste.Edited: Fixed typos again. Other minor changes.

This one I gave to another one of my daughters, that I live with. It has a dent on the side of it and the plastic ream at the top of it is broken.

Disposable Pressure Cooker
I have had this pressure cooker for about a year and use it occasionally. The problem is the seal has started to go bad. So, today I called the manufacturer to order a replacement. They no longer make a replacement seal and do not have any other seller of seals that they recommend that makes one for their unit. The seals on pressure cookers like this often need to be replaced (some users even keep extras for different types of food to avoid flavor mixing). These seals are also important to the functioning and safety of the unit. So now, I have a *disposable* pressure cooker that I spent a good deal of money to purchase. Beware if you are thinking about buying this or other products that they make. If they do not back up or support their products with regular maintenance parts, it will become useless. I give it 2 stars only because when I have used it, it has functioned well. Now I can no longer use it, so it doesn't really matter.
