Q: Does this case close to cover the front screen too, or will the tablet's front screen always be visible?

The case covers the front screen perfectly.

Q: Do you have to take the tablet out of the case to get in the vertical viewing mode?

No.. you don’t have to take it out. The case has a rotating ring that allows you to rotate it to a vertical position. But the case itself won’t stay in a vertical position when sitting on a table. It will fall down very easily. The construct of the case is weak as far as the material.

Q: Is there a way to set up the tablet in case? Or how do you get the flap in the case to support the tablet so it stays up?

When you've installed your tablet into the case there is a spot on the back, under the hand strap that you pull out and it supports the tablet sideways.
