When Elsdon returns six years later, Nyssa decides to use a token of Elsdon's to spy on his dreams and discover once and for all the truth of her parents' deaths.Like all of Vivian Vande Velde's books, Witch Dreams is deceptively deep. Clocking in at only 158 pages, this slim novel packs in sympathetic and well-drawn characters, an engaging plot, and an emotional punch. The questions of who murdered Nyssa's parents and how are expertly spun and keeps the reader guessing until the end. Unlike many of her fantasy stories, this one is much more serious and has almost none of VVV's notable wry humor. Sad, but very recommended.

This was such a good book. It's s good thing it was fairly short because I could NOT put it down. In some ways the end was what I suspected, but in others it was a complete surprise. I liked that the ending was a hopeful one. Good story.

Have always enjoyed this author's books. I probably have read every one and have really enjoyed reading them. There is always a lesson some character learns and it's always fun. I just wish she wrote more.

Yet again Vande Velde has produced a clever compact fantasy tale with her usual wit and style.I just wish that her books were easier to get hold of in Australia

Very surprising end. Waiting for sequel. Keenly enjoyed. Thanks for writing down this story. Very vivid. Wish it were longer.

It was an okay book. not a lot of depth to it. a fast read for me.
