iMAX B6AC V2 AC/DC Dual Power Professional LiPo Battery Balance Charger/Discharger

Fantastic charger, does everything you could want and does it well. Easy to use and looks amazing, vibrant blue aluminum housing and backlit display all for a great price, don’t hesitate on this, it’s awesome.

I thought to put 4 stars because the charger gets quite hot even in charging mode. Probably the built-in power supply gets hot. However, I will put 5 stars because the price is very competitive. For this money, it is simply an excellent charger. Simply excellent and best on the market. The main thing is that it is suitable for charging high-capacity large Lifepo4 batteries. In this case, it was suitable for Dakota Lithium batteries(as you can see on picture). Fits just perfectly! All you have to do is disable the balancer in settings. Heating is a minus, but it can be solved with an additional heatsink + fan. Otherwise, there are only pluses. Strongly recommended to charge your Dakota Lithium high capacity up to 100Ah.

I had the cheaper B6 LiPo Charger before this. Although it did charge and work as described, except for not charging over 5A due to undersided External power supply. This charger is much better. More features and the power supply is itegrated into the charge and not a huge external brick. I've used it for LiPo and NiMh batts. The repeak feature is a great addition for getting the most out of your old NiMh batteries.

I used this to rebalance my Milwaukee 12.0 ah batteries (charge each cell bank up to 4.2) and it worked like a charm. It was much better than paying someone else to do it or forking out another $220-$250 for one battery. Definitely one of my best recent purchases.

This charger has every appearance of being an original and the SN checks out on the IMAX web site. It does everything they say it will and it was not too difficult to figure everything out although the instructions could be a bit clearer. They make perfect sense once you know what your doing but in the beginning you may be scratching your head a bit. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they have put a filter capacitor across the power input which in itself is a good thing but when you first plug the unit in you get an arc at the outlet because the capacitor is drawing so much power for a millisec to charge up. They really need a soft on circuit or at least an on/off switch. It probably will not do any damage but is disconcerting to get that snap and flash every time you plug in.

This charger is famous for being an entry level device with the features you really need. Lipos (lithium polymer) and Lihv's for that matter, require very specific treatment to stay safe and operate at their potential. They need to be charged to specific voltage and used within a day or two. To be stored, lipos need to be charged partially, not completely charged, not completely discharged. This charger is also a discharger and this is one of the primary features that separates it from less expensive chargers. This is important when you have a fully charged battery that you don't plan on using right away. Whether the battery is fully charged OR fully discharged, by selecting the Storage Charge feature, the Imax B6 will leave the battery at the correct charge for extended storage. The IMAX B6 is AC and DC. It plugs into the wall and can be connected to a 12V car battery with the included clips. Many lower prices chargers will do one or the other but not both. There are some features that pricier charges do have that the B6 doesn't have such as: The charger is only 50 watts / 6 amps which means it will take a bit of time charging batteries over 4000 mah. It only charges up to 6S and only one battery at a time. Most of all, it would be nice if it included more connectors. It is missing the XT90, Tamiya, EC3, and the EC5.

I build batteries! The unit has a built-in DC Adapter. It comes with a 110v 3-contact cable. I like that you can download a PC app for this which gives you access to setting that aren't available in the Standalone Unit. Just plug in a Mini-USB cable from your' computer (laptop in my case), and adjust your settings, Voila! The app let's you adjust the maximum charge voltage and minimum discharge. The Built-in power allows up to 6amps of charging power, which is handy on larger batteries. I always place my battery and charger on a metal plate for safety.

This Charger is more than a charger, it is a battery saver. Best money I have spent and would recommend this to anyone who needs a balance charger. Not only can this charger charge your multi cell batteries it can also re-balance those cells too. I had a 3 cell battery that was unbalanced 1 full cell and 2 storage level cells because of a defective smart charger. I was wondering how I was going to bring this battery back to a balanced charge. I asked around and got many different ideas but decided to buy this charger anyway. Turns out this charger will bring your battery back into a balanced charge. It will take some time depending on how out of balance they are but it does work. I watched this charger and what it does to bring the balance back is to trickle charge the battery. One thing worth noting is if you are buying this to charge your airsoft batteries you are going to need an airsoft adapter which is not included. Double check that the adapter you are buying is for airsoft as the ones for RC do not work on the airsoft batteries.
