The History of Medieval Europe

I am currently midway through this book, I studied medieval history at University (some time ago I admit) and this book still has new info for me. A really good buy.

It gave me so much information in a very concise way. I know it is a book I will dip into over the years to fill in gaps in my knowledge or to prepare for European visits to give a background history.

A very good, if somewhat dated, survey of the topic. As is usual in the case of a broad survey in paperback, the maps are not entirely helpful. A good start.
