Crafted in Vermont, this lead-free, non-toxic, and food-safe ceramic glaze delivers rich, durable color effects while supporting community arts education. Each 1-pint jar is backed by a lifetime warranty, ensuring professional potters and hobbyists alike can create with confidence and conscience. ## Description This Celadon Series green brings a traditional glassy, semi-translucent look to mid-fire stoneware and ceramics. It pools into carving, texture and edges, deepening the color there while staying lighter across smooth, flatter surfaces. Brush it on straight from the jar, or layer and blend it with other Celadon Series colors to build new effects. Fire to Cone 5-6 in a calibrated kiln for the glossy, semi-translucent finish shown on the swatch. ## Features - Our medium fire glazes offer similar ranges to our low fire polishes, but also introduce interesting effects and shade not available on low fire glazes. - One of the fascinating aspects of pottery is the slight variations we can achieve using different clay bodies, enamel types, and firing methods. It's like a vintage movie photograph - you don't know how it will look until you take it out of the oven! That's why pottery is an art! We recommend you try different approaches and most importantly, embrace uncertainty. You will have so much fun seeing different results! - Glazes will react differently (and look different) depending on several factors including: (a) the temperature at which they are burned: even small changes in temperature can lead to different results; (b) the clay body on which the glaze is applied: the same glaze will look different if applied to darker clay vs. lighter clay; (c) how fast your oven reaches the target temperature; and (d) how much oxygen is in the oven atmosphere during burbur. Test before applying. - Our nail polishes are lead free, non-toxic and food safe (when properly burned and tested). Make sure to shake the jar well before use and do not let it freeze. Must be fired in a ceramic oven. It will not work if it is burned in a kitchen oven. - Please note that your glazed surface may look different from the product image because the glazes react differently to different firing techniques and types of clay. All Penguin Pottery products are backed by our lifetime warranty.
