If you have a cat, just buy it. It’s everything you want it to be. It’s so much easier than hoarding Walmart bags under your sink, especially now that Walmart bags rip if someone thinks a mean thought about them. There’s no trying to get the stupid little bag to stay folded open, no being engulfed with the poop smells while scooping, no filling your trash can up with heavy litter daily and wasting valuable actual trash room. And it has a holder for the litter scoop, so no scoop wrapped in a Walmart bag hidden under the sink. My kitchen sink cabinet has never been more roomy, y’all.We have two cats and three boxes. The litter genie fills up about every four days for us. That sounded like a lot to me, so I did the math for bag refills to make sure I was willing to pay for them long term. A refill is $20, with 24 bags per roll. If I’m changing the bag every four days, that’s about 3 months of bags per roll (I’m not showing you my math because I’m bad at math and easily embarrassed. If I’m wrong let me live in blissful ignorance, please). That sounds fair to me, but if it doesn’t work with you, the Walmart bags or small trash bags would almost definitely fit in the genie, so you can MacGyver it to fit your lifestyle.I love this thing. I mean really. I was worried the bags would rip, they’re crazy strong. I was worried it would fill too fast, but I’m using 4x less plastic bags than I was before, and frankly, the full bag is a little hefty, so any bigger and I’d probably struggle to carry it out. I was worried the smell wouldn’t stay trapped, but unless you open the trap door while the top lid is open, you can’t tell there’s four days worth of cat potty right next to you.As for troubleshooting tips based on what other reviews complained about, never fear, I have suggestions.- Having trouble keeping the bag secured? Not enough free edge to tie the bag once it’s time to change it? Too much strain on the bag made it rip through the clips? Roll/cuff the top of the bag a couple times before you clip it into place. Reinforces bag, gives the clips more to hold, and keeps enough bag left for a good tie off.- Too much litter/dust collecting on top of the loading zone? Shake out your scoop more so you’re carrying less free litter, don’t scoop as much at one time, and/or drop the doodie into the pail more frequently so the clumps stay in the little trap door space, not sitting on the rim. Also, the bigger the scoop, the more stray litter you’re going to have going on the rim. The included scoop works really well and is obviously sized for the genie, so if you’ve got your own and it’s bigger than theirs, that might be part of your issue.- Scoop holder falls on your floor every time you go to change the bag out because you’re a big dummy who forgets that it’s only held on by the top lid every single time you open it somehow? I’m probably the only one with that problem, but if I’m not, lil bit of poster putty to stick the holder to the base, while keeping it removable for cleaning! I know, I know, I have a big brain, please hold your applause.(Side note, if you’re not happy with your litter or think it doesn’t work well with the genie, shout out to the arm & hammer brand clump & seal multi cat ~slide~ litter. Low dust, great clumps, absorbs smell like a champ)

I ordered this a few days ago - had to watch a video but figured it out easily and assembled it. It is in my laundry room near the automatic cat litter box. I find the waste odor from the auto clean litter box storage compartment gets smelly in a few days not a month as they claimed. So I scoop out the storage box every couple days placing the waste in lavender scented small pet poop waste bags and tie it closed. Then I open the lid and place the lavender bag in the top compartment of this system and close it again. Next I pull the handle which opens the inside compartment and drops the small lavender waste bag into the larger interior liner bag below and seals it off ready for next time. I’m planning to take the larger liner bag out once a week to the trash. This creates an odor free laundry room. The Crystal litter in the auto clean box absorbs the urine and leaves a minimal odor which dissipates. I will need to change out crystals in the auto litter box more than monthly I expect if I smell urine but hoping 3 weeks will be good depending on if I smell anything. Now that I have this figured out it will work great. The new cat has soft smelly waste that is not ideal in the auto machine. I plan to solve the cat’s GI issues too but as of right now our house once again smells fresh and clean at all times and I only have to do a quick 3 minute scoop, bag and toss every day or two and touch nothing. I’m a fan of this nifty little item. I even put it on the top of the counter in the laundry dry room so I don’t have to bend over. The scoop on the side comes in handy and the unit is not unattractive it just sits there being a little gray appliance. It rolls easily if you need to move it and works very well sitting on the floor out of the way too. Takes up very little room. Not expensive great design - hoping for zero odor ongoing - so far so good!!!

A game changer. Nice style, love the white and light grey color. The stainless steel is on the outside wrap only. Wish the scoop was stainless. For the price point I understand why the unit itself isnt completely stainless. A bit deceiving if you do not read everything. Its light in weight. No smell ever, easy to set up and use. Nice design. Love the new easier secure litter bag design. Secures weeks/month of cat feces, amazing when weather is bad, to not have to drop in outside bin daily, my bin dosnt smell any longer. That was horrible everytime I had to drop my trash. So heathier for all. Great in more ways than one. I'd recommend. My cats have never bothered to get into it, another plus. Love it.

I read all of the reviews, especially the 1-star ones. Expensive but purchase wasn't going to change my life style so a month ago I bought the Litter Genie Platinum.I really like this thing. I have four 8 pound cats and multiple litter trays. One of the trays is in the laundry room and gets about 30% of the usage. I use the litter robot twice a day.So far zero issues other than not reading the directions. You have to pull the bag up far enough to easily fit over the flap and 4 corners.The weight of the used litter will pull the bag down and keep it sealed. This means that first usage when I change the bag needs to be days worth of litter. After that it seals itself nicely. I have not noticed any odors coming from the pail.I don't think it would work well with lightweight litter. I use clay clumping litter and it is rather heavy.Open the lid, scoop in what needs to be scooped, close the lid, pull the 'flush' tray out and everything falls into the bag. Push back in the 'flush' tray and it will click into place.A plastic scoop shovel comes with the unit and there is a holder on the side. If anything sticks to the scoop shovel I wash it before returning it to the holder.In regards to the bottom bag box holder - yeah, it's pretty pitiful. They could have designed it so that it firmly gripped the bag box. I put some rubber tape on the inside of the holder and now it firmly holds the box.One review mentioned having to wash up after using this - good idea anyway, but I've used it several dozen times and changed the bag several times and haven't experienced that problem. Another review said that litter gets into the bottom of the pail outside of the bag - I haven't had that happen either.All in all - very good purchase. I'm buying a couple of more today to sit by the other litter boxes.

Let's start with the good. This pail works exactly like they say it will. Super easy to use and there is NO smell whatsoever once it's closed up. The compact size fits perfectly into the space i had for it and it makes keeping the litter box clean a breeze.The bad: I'm not really sure how they figure "up to 8 days" one a single bag. My cat is a whopping 8lbs and the sole user of the litter box and the best we have done was 6 days.... and that was with me using the scoop to "break" the waste up to get more into the bag. I cannot imagine more than 2 or 3 days max in a multi-cat household!Refills are expensive. There are offhand options available. I suspect you could probably use much cheaper small trash bags as well but have not tried that.The scoop holder does NOT stay. The lite "hooks" are too small to be effective and it is forever falling off. That was easily remedied with some sticky-back velcro to hold it in place. It is super convenient to have an easy bag place to store the scoop.All in all, the pail works well for our needs,even if it does fill up too quickly!

Dilemma. Daily scooping and what to do with the bag. I certainly don’t want it in my kitchen trash can and I really don’t want a bunch of individual bags loose in the outside bin; and all that plastic??? Maybe you guys have an effective solution, but I didn’t. Litter Genie to the rescue.We have a diabetic cat that pees a lot but the Easy Roll handles his waste for a week. It’s trim enough so it’s not an eyesore but for the control of odor it provides, I’d deal with it.Simple to use and easy to replace/change the bag. The included scoop is a nice addition and attaches conveniently to the side of the unit. The opening to the unit is large (much larger than the scoop) so waste slides easily into the Genie, which means minimal cleaning required.It’s all plastic but for how it’s being used, it’s sturdy. Great purchase. I just wish I had done it sooner.

I wish I knew about this ten years ago because it’s amazing! So easy to use, no smell because it’s completely sealed after you dispose of litter clumps! No open trash can with litter scooper sitting around. It holds a lot of litter clumps before you need to use a new bag and that process is unbelievably easy as well! Highly recommend and I never recommend anything!

upgraded from the Genie Plus Pail after 2 years since my kitty broke the lid off when he tried to sit on it while I was cleaning the litter. I lovveeee the new look and improved functionality!! The opening area to drop waste is a lot bigger (used a coke bottle as reference to try to show size comparison) + the sliding lever that locks the odor in isn't springy so it's much easier to use. I also prefer these tear-off bags over the ones where you have to tie the bottom. The refill bag that was included in mine isn't as thin and transparent as the ones posted by other reviewers where their bags ripped + I just found and ordered more refill bags from another brand that sells them for cheaper. According to the reviews, they're basically the same or even more durable than the genie ones. I also love the new look and white color since it’s prettier and better fits my room aesthetics (although I wish they sold the all white version that's featured in the video for this product -- why would they do that? lol).Mine came with a tiny scratch, but I was too lazy to return it and didn't want to wait for another one. The back handle is awkwardly placed in the middle and hard to grip so I can't move it around with just one hand anymore (not sure who thought this would be a good idea when it was perfect before). I also wish the pail capacity where waste is stored was bigger since I have 2 maine coons, but these are more minor inconveniences. For me, the wider opening area to drop waste + prettier stainless steel design make the inconveniences worth it!TLDR -- pros outweigh consPROS:-big opening area to drop litter (my favorite pro)-overall great functionality-no smell-stainless steel (feels sturdy and durable)-nice design and color-scoop and holder included + good placement for them-favorite litter disposal product that I could find and used so farCONS:-came with a small scratch-the back handle is in the middle so it's harder to lift/carry around-waste storage capacity is not ideal for multiple cat owners

I thought it was an over-expensive trash can for 🐈💩 but boy was i WRONG!!! this thing keeps the odor in, is easy to use/refill, and makes cleaning the litterboxes so much easier & enjoyable somehow compared to when i was scooping it into a dog poop bag 🤯 love it, dont regret it, wish I bought it sooner 🙃

Al inicio dudé en la compra, ya que venía limpiando la caja de arena y ponía los residuos en bolsas desechables para mascotas (lo cual al final me salía más caro económicamente) y tenía que sacar la basura todos los días debido al olor. Al tener la caja de arena en el baño de mis hijos me preocupaba el olor y la limpieza de los desechos diarios, sobre todo, que él olvidara sacar la basura todos los días. Por lo que decidí comprar este sistema y fue un cambio total. No hay olores, una bolsa dura aproximadamente dos semanas (un solo gato), la compra se hizo en junio 2023 y esta opinión la estoy realizando en enero 2024 y aun tenemos bolsas de la primer recarga, por lo que si cumple lo que promete en cuanto al tiempo de recarga. La bolsa no hay que llenarla hasta arriba, se debe dejar un margen para poder cerrarla y desecharla, ya que veo varias opiniones de que se les caen las bolsas por el peso, a mi no me ha sucedido, pero quizás es por ese margen que dejo siempre para cerrar la bolsa lo cual hace que no sea tan pesada y sin embargo al sacarla siempre veo que la cantidad de desecho es bastante. Me gusta que no ocupa mucho espacio por lo que fácilmente se puede poner en un rinconcito en el baño. En casa utilizamos la arena scoop away y es muy fácil tirar los desechos sin ensuciar nada ya que parecen rocas, por lo que si recomiendo que utilicen una arena que aglutine bien para que no tengan problemas a la hora de ponerlos en el genie litter y que se manche o que no caigan bien en la bolsa. Los repuestos me parecen a un precio accesible (alrededor de $360), sobre todo por la durabilidad. Para mi esto se ha vuelto algo necesario si tienes uno o más gatos ya que evita olores y vueltas constantes para sacar la basura. Al hacer el cambio de bolsa solo asegurarte de abrirla bien ya que viene cerrada a lo largo y ponerla correctamente en los 4 ganchos que trae el bote para que con el peso no haga que resbale y se caiga. Después de 7 meses de uso el little genie está como nuevo, sin olores en el plástico por lo que no he visto la necesidad de lavarlo más que desinfectarlo en cada cambio de bolsa con Lysol. Realmente lo recomiendo.
