There’s an annoyingly specific plug-in sequence that you must follow each time, which the instructions mention, but even then it doesn’t work reliably. Every single session requires me to: 1. Disconnect and reconnect the cable in a specific order. 2. Remove and re-add my headset in the Meta Quest Link PC app. 3. Restart the headset entirely. Even after doing all of that, it still disconnects at random. When it does manage to connect, the Meta Quest Link USB test reports only 2.3 Gbps, which is barely compatible for PCVR. That’s less than half of the advertised USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) performance. I verified this using a high-end gaming PC (RTX 4070, multiple verified 5 Gbps and 10 Gbps motherboard ports) and confirmed that my system is not the bottleneck. I also used the official Meta Quest charging cable for the power input on the Kuject adapter, so power delivery isn’t the issue either. The bottleneck is clearly the Kuject “smart chip” itself — it throttles the data connection and never achieves true 5 Gbps speeds. This cable is effectively a charging cord with limited data throughput, not a genuine high-speed Link cable. The marketing is misleading, and the product design is flawed. For reliable PCVR, you’re far better off with the official Meta Link cable or a proven 5 Gbps data-only option from brands like Anker or Cable Matters.
