The Functional Planning Handbook

This little book is definitely worth more than one read, and I believe it was intended to be used often. It has been living on my desk and has been what I call a steadying influence for me. I’m a creative soul, with lots of ideas and passions that I want to put into the world and it’s the ideas in this book, the systems and mindset, and the core teachings that have been really helpful in making my vision of my life become reality. It’s helped me to get more strategic with my planning and actually be able to complete tasks and complete projects. It’s practical, and I really need practical. When I’m stuck in any way, this is a good place to turn, because there are so many small hacks and things to try.

Alexis is the one you go to for all things Functional Planning, Managing Your Life & Time, Organization, Motivation & More!! This book is little but mighty! Densely filled with intelligent information that actually works & will help you to get where you want to be!!

Good book but I was expecting a regular sized book judging from the pictures but it's more of a booklet.

There's planning, and then there's FUNCTIONAL PLANNING with Alexis! The Handbook is a common-sense approach to organizing your thoughts into a real plan to achieve your projects and dream goals, no matter how big or small. She helps you break down your lofty goals into bite-size and executable pieces and sincerely wants to help you achieve your dreams. This Handbook is a must-have! Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to use their time effectively to achieve their goals and objectives.

I've followed Alexis for years and was thrilled to hear she wrote this little black book packed full of tried and true advice. I've read it cover to cover twice since it arrived and it has earned a place of honor right next to my planner. Alexis' approach and productivity system just "makes sense" and it's easily customizable to any situation.Buy this little gem now, you won't be sorry!

NOTE: My review does not reflect the content of the book. My problem is with the format of the book. It is small, and the pages are really crammed with text in a small font. In the author's introduction, she suggests highlighting and annotating the book to make it yours, which is something I normally do. However, there is no room to write on the page, as margins are a scant 1/2 inch at most. It also looks like it would be difficult to underline the text because the gutter (inner margin) is so tight the text rolls in toward the binding. This also makes it hard to read. This is disappointing because I think the content is probably very helpful. Unfortunately, for me, the format is prohibitive enough that I cannot use it.

This is exactly what I have been looking for! For many years I’ve purchased planners and inserts following social media influencers but none of it made sense to me. I didn’t have a source like this one. Alexis thank you so much for writing this book. I love that it wasn’t technical and it was to the point. I learned quite a bit and now I finally know what I want in a planner and actually how to functionally plan.

My only suggestion is for this book to be made available in the Kindle format ASAP. The print is very small on this 4 x 6 inch book, and I’d love the ability to highlight digitally. I’d gladly buy the digital edition as a companion to the paperback.

Did not realize how small this book is. Not good value for the money is cost.
