There is no fan to circulate the air. There is only a cooling plate in the back of the refrigerator. Simple physics dictates that cold air falls and warm air rises. The cooling plate is in the center of the refrigerator so nothing on the top shelf gets cold. Items on the middle shelf only get moderately cold. The cooling plate is not protected so any cans or bottles that touch the cooling plate freeze and explode.
