Good product but battery can go fast if you dont change the settings

I am beyond satisfied with the Google Nest Doorbell (Battery). I chose the Ash color, and it looks incredibly stylish and modern next to my front door. It’s not just about looks, though—the performance is top-notch. The installation was a breeze since it’s battery-powered, and the video quality is crystal clear with a perfect vertical field of view, allowing me to see packages on the ground and people from head to toe. The smart alerts are very accurate; it distinguishes between people, animals, and vehicles, which prevents unnecessary notifications. As a busy parent, being able to check who’s at the door directly from my phone—or even seeing my son arrive home from baseball practice—is a huge peace of mind. I’ve been using the Google Nest Doorbell for a while now, and it’s been a big upgrade for my home security. The video quality is sharp both day and night, and the wide field of view helps catch packages or visitors without missing much. Installation was super straightforward battery power means no wiring hassles, and the Nest app made setup quick. Motion alerts and familiar face notifications are useful, and I love that I can check live video right from my phone. Battery life has been good so far, and when it does need a recharge, the app gives plenty of advance notice. The battery lasts about 2-3 months-ish even in the very cold northern Indiana winter, Overall this smart doorbell delivers excellent performance with intuitive features definitely worth it if you want reliable home monitoring. I have the whole google ecosystem and its nice to be able to access all of them from one app.

Fantastic product. The battery life is great, it works very well in the home app, and does a good job updating your phone when it sees something. It can tell the difference between animals, a person, or somebody with a package. The communication works great too. It also rings on all your google devices, so if you are already part of that ecosystem it functions great. It's a great product.

This doorbell was easy to install, easy to connect to wifi, and works as a wonderful addition to our security with no lag in live feed. The camera angle views the entire sidewalk and a good portion of the adjacent patio. The color video is sharp and bright, the audio is clear. It is easy to connect to Google Home which sends a notification per settings when motion is detected. Has familiar face capability to avoid notifying household members; can be set to weed out animals and cars, too. I will be purchasing another for one of our many other doors. Jul 2025 UPDATE demoted from 5 star to 1 star: I had dropped Mar 2024 doorbell when reinstalling after a charge and broke the lens. I bought another one. Why didn't I return it? I figured I was doing something wrong and it could be worked through. I separated my network to 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz to ensure it connected to the 2.4. Nope. I spoke with a Google customer service person last night and jumped through ALL the hoops, nope. Then she said to call my internet provider because my internet isn't supporting the doorbell. I asked about the 2.4 and she admitted that was what it needed. When I told her that is directed to 2.4 and I just connected and disconnected 3 nest cameras, a laptop and 2 phones to the 2.4 GHz so it is NOT the internet, she said that's all she could do.

I purchased the Google Nest Doorbell about a year ago to try it out on our front door, and overall it has been a great addition to our home. We live in the northern part of the United States where winters can be extremely harsh, with temperatures sometimes dropping as low as -30°F, so durability in cold weather was an important factor for us. For most of the year, this doorbell performs exceptionally well. The video quality is excellent, with a clear and sharp picture that makes it easy to see exactly who is at the door or when a package has been dropped off. The audio quality is also very good, and the two-way communication feature allows you to easily speak with someone at your door through the app on your phone. Another thing I appreciate is how convenient it is to monitor activity from the app. Whether someone rings the bell or simply walks up to the door, you can quickly check your phone and see what’s happening. The chime is pleasant and not overly loud, and the overall user experience feels very polished. Installation was also fairly straightforward. My husband handled it and watched a few quick YouTube tutorials beforehand, but once he got started the process was pretty simple. One thing we did notice is that when temperatures drop below about -10°F, the doorbell occasionally stops functioning temporarily. For us, that hasn’t been a major issue because those extreme temperatures don’t happen often, and when it’s that cold there usually isn’t much activity outside anyway. Overall, this doorbell offers great picture and audio quality, easy installation, and solid everyday performance. For the price, it provides a very good layer of home awareness and security without being overly expensive. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and budget-friendly smart doorbell.

Love this item it works perfect!

Set it up properly and you will get a long battery life. We bought 1 to try and with some changes to settings, estimate 7-8 weeks of battery life before a charge. Probably charge at 6 weeks so we have full functionality. Quality is excellent, detects people with packages, unfamiliar faces if you subscribe to Nest aware. I turned off vehicle detection and lowered the sensitivity so it is not telling me every time someone walks down the road. Be mindful installing it near your outdoor lights as it may make night visibility had with glare. We will get another 1 or 2.

Easy to install and works great.

The item freezed .i tried to reset according to the troubleshooting BUT it didn't work.i have only used it for 1 month

The features are amazing! Can be used right out of the box with no fuss. Or, if you prefer, set zones you’d like to watch, choose which activities (people, packages, animals, movement) you’d like monitored and record the video for viewing now or later. You can even talk to people at your door, whether you’re home or not.

Good and night camera vision and wide angle. No need for subscription pymts unless I want extra features. Battery mode works great so no need to have it wired in. Get notifications no matter where I am. Keeps an eye on my car
