Needed this badly
Every spring I am plagued with starlings wanting to build a nest on the spotlight above my front door.I have tried many ways to stop them and nothing really worked. I had planned on buying these last year but did not, I am thrilled I didn’t wait this yearThey are easy to put together and can be cut to fit areas. No more loud pigeon sex.
I think these finally solved the problem of loud, seemingly violent pigeon sex happening on my kitchen windowsill.My kitchen window faces the space between my apartment building and the building next door. It’s a typical shaft found between NYC walk-ups. It’s also apparently a very popular mating spot for pigeons.Well, not anymore. At least not my windowsill. Maybe they relocated up or down one floor, but that’s sufficient.I never realized pigeon mating was so loud and violent. And it didn’t seem to matter what time of day it was. You could hear then flapping against my window and window screen at all hours while making ungodly noises.Thankfully, my sill is now unattractive to these horny flying rats.

Birds avoid for the most part
This has stopped the pigeons very well, but there are two sparrows who are determined to nest where I don't want them to despite these spikes. Even the smaller version hasn't deterred them. That said, it's nice the pigeons avoid our house now.

They do not work
They do not deter Swallows from building their nests.

Seems to work
It looks like it’ll work. Time will tell though. I was getting tired of knocking down half built nest. 4 in a 24 period. Read the room birds!

Difficult assembly
Several holes for the wires were closed and difficult to perforate.

These bird deterrents were very easy to install, and were effective in discouraging barn swallows from building a nest.Would recommend.
