The Poetics of Interconnection.
Oh blessed Audiophillic nirvana, long hath I sought thine airy reach! To dine on acoustic honeydew and to drink the milk of harmonic paradise.Yet forthsooth I thought lay yonder bliss.Long hath I sought, in vain and vanglorious expenditure. Thus with some surprise I did stumble upon an unicorn of reason and majik meet?Fashioned by Jeans of Cable BlueA special offering. With a silvered conductor central to placate the less enlightened. No claims were made of unreason, clear descriptors of measures and upfront of its unadultered Belden origin. Why not?, I thought, as click once I did.For I needeth and these be lesser priced than their copper brethren they be..Whence hath arrived in humble wrappingBorn by Amazons in Prime fashion,Connectes of inter and between hath arrived!Upon unwrapped,What upon my eyes meet?Industrial of mien and unassuming countenance,Familiar to me yet strange.Thine connective ends are well known, crimped and rubber booted.I know well how these ends doth extendfar beyond quotidian plugs, deep in the leeside of that which it attaches and fits not in shallow quarters.Yeh, making routing a Herculean feat I hath mastered. For, HARK!, such endevour is required for unsurpassed relief of strain and surity of attachment.White and red one each, of optimal ohms and magisty of construction! Then Along thine ligiments My gaze follows...What is this I see before me?Not the noir matte tendons i know so well, separate unless enrapped by flex of Tech as they are.Thine wiry substance is conjoined in parallel fusion,Bifurcating towards the ends only, though easily more divided I can make with gentle force as much as I desire.Thinner than thy standard brethren, lean and but less pliant and more springy.Color of grey, slight of sheen, light glistens.Letters name the Belden origin and numbers crypticState it's standard use.Oh, so low capacatence it's hath been measured!A wonder of televisual transmission well exceeds auditory need!Thy textured surface betrays the double shield enshrouded therin. At the core, Precious Silver may plate thy conductor center, but industrial is thy outward countenance.I place in circuit your yard length,Between pre and power.Oh, burn in not I think!Such myths I do not indulge! And too eager to hear thine splendor! With current flowing and signal pulsing, Triple Voided twin Cathodes all aglowing,I concentrate my mind and find my mark. What is this I hear? What hath changed?Something slight enchanced brightness perchance? So small the quantum of differenceI must question: "Do I trust my ears or my mind, so easily deceived in expectation and placebo?"Verily I think not! No change substantive exists. The fools of audio quest may delcare:"See?...thy Vender of cables, blue of jeans, hath let you down with such non-exotic offer!"But laugh off such misplaced magic thought and retort:Verily my silvered strands of transmission are proper! And of slightly less investment.Fit for purpose they are,As no difference evidenced.Of tone controls I prefer than misusing cables thusly! No magic lay therine but no damage done.Wizards hide behind veils of rhetoric and deception!Snakes they are and sell you their excretions.Opposed to such magical thinking, are the masters builders of Jeans of Blue. These silvered stands bear neither snake or or viper venom. So hesitate not my friends in rational thinking and scientific method,

This is a mediocre sounding analog cable that is actually an EXCELLENT digital S/PDIF cable.
Okay, first things first: BJC cable quality (the physical quality of the cable, which comes from Belden) and the connectors is truly excellent and without flaw. Period. No funny business with BNJC; they just make solid stuff.AS AN ANALOG INTERCONNECT, this cable is inadequate. The highs have lots of artificial sheen, yet less resolution than they should. The bass is decent and controlled. The entire midrange presentation is compressed in width/height/depth, strained/etched, slightly sibilant, and the cable has an artificially forward character. Bottom line: it's just not neutral and adds (discards?) quite a bit of information to the original signal.AS A COAXIAL DIGITAL S/PDIF CABLE, the Belden 734D2 (same as D1 but comes in a pair) is literally perfect for digital audio transmission in consumer gear. Solid copper center conductor with silver coating? Check. Double shielding? Check. A true characteristic impedance (including connectors) of 75 ohms? Check (also, this is both CRITICAL to digital signal transmission and very rare; many companies state that, sure, their cables are 75 ohms. But their connectors usually aren't and they are for sure not holding +/- 1.5 ohms to the 75 ohm standard unless they are using Bleden cable stock as well). All of these factors swerve tor educe tranmission line reflections in the S/PDIF tranmission system and to supress jitter. If you want to fall down a google hole, go look up "digital audio cable signal transmission internal reflections". Michael Ritter, founder of Pacific Microsonics and Berkeley Audio Design has done a lot of scientific research on this and it is not audio foolery to state that all digital cables do not sound the same. PM was acquired by Microsoft, btw.Digital signals still live in an analog world. A digital signal is a series of square waves where the voltage of a signal goes from +1 volt, past 0, to -1 volt, and so-on. The theory of this implementation depends on an infitely fast rise and fall time of the voltage in the signal. This is, obviously, quite impossible. So, as the edges of these square waves become rounded, the devices in the system circuit must guess as to the exact timing of the transition point of the voltage of the signal from +1 to -1. This guessing, when done incorrectly as it usually is, results in time domain errors, colloquially referred to as "jitter". The physical quality and characterstics of this cable all use sound engineering principals to effectively suppress and reduce these timing errors.Bottom line: it's basically a fully mediocre analog interconnect, but it's a simply SUPERB coaxial digital S/PDIF cable pair....essentially unequaled for its price. The only other cabl;e that comes close is the Monoprice Monolith. This cable can also be had in single version with the orange "digital" rubber boots/strain relief here on Amazon for just over half the price. I have these cables and the 6 foot orange version. So, buy with confidence as long as you know what you are getting.

Good quality cable, but LC-1 is better
I have several LC-1 cables but decided to try this one when I saw it on discount. I use it for a line level connection, not for connecting to a turntable. The material quality and construction are top notch. The Canare rca plugs are every bit as good as the Taversoe plugs on the LC-1. The cable boots are the same. They "sound" the same as LC-1 in my application, except I don't find this cable to be as good with hum rejection as LC-1. That means I have to be more careful with cable routing than with LC-1, especially since I have a very sensitive MC phono preamp. One big difference for me is that the Belden 734D2 cable used here is stiffer than the LC-1. That makes it a bit harder to handle and tougher to fit into tight spaces. This cable is a bit cheaper, but I'd go with LC-1 for most analog connections. The LC-1 is worth the small cost difference.

cable works as advertised
adding to my marantz/emotiva setup. i cant say i notice a difference but as far as cables go - this one is a good price

Blue Jeans are the best value in audio cables
Super high quality cables for the money. Way better than anything you can buy at Best Buy, and more than likely less expensive. A solid buy every time.
