Very easy to get enough sparks for a single strike fire. I used a pencil sharpener to shave a fatwood stick.And all it takes is a quarter size pinch of fatwood flakes to set paper and twigs on fire.There is something oddly satisfying about being able to start a roaring fire without a match.

This Fire Starter works great. Once you work off the black coating it comes with, it sparks very well. I really, really like the big size of it - I can easily get a good hold on it, smaller ones are difficult to use. It was easy making tinder with the jagged edge on the striker, plus it offers many more uses which I’m sure will be convenient in the future. Great Product!!

Great product! Gives off a mighty spark! I found this ferro rod on Amazon after searching for a while and I am super impressed. It feels really good in the hand, allows a great grip to get a ton of friction across the rod and since its slightly larger than others it's easier to throw big sparks! And the Multitool that comes with it has already been used multiple times this past week. I definitely recommend this product!

I have several ferro rods, but this one has become my go to! It's long enough to maintain a good grip and still strike substantial sparks, and thick enough to be durable and long-lasting. Works very well, and comes with a striker of its own, though the knife (that nobody should ever be without) will work equally well.

This is my very first ever ferro rod and I absolutely love it!!!! I just recently started getting into camping and survival type stuff. And got one to practice using and making fires. I love it so much I bought a second one as a backup in case I lose the original one. I highly recommend this product if you’re into anything like camping or wilderness, survival or even just a prepper. Or even just having it for fun.

I have had some of the Blaster, smaller type rods/starters and can tell you that you will not regret going with a striker like this as opposed to the smaller ones.Throws gobs of sparks

I would advise a knife in replacement of the tool for better sparks. But it's handy to have the tool there instead of loosing your knife later. In a emergency situation this tool is essential.
