My husband had never seen one of these on a garbage disposal before. It took some coaxing to convince him this would be a great idea but once we ordered it and installed it he thought it was brilliant. We installed a new garbage disposal in a sink that had never had one before. Using this set up meant he didn't have to cut into the walls to install a new switch or rewire an existing switch. He used the dishwasher electrical plug for power and he said the air switch was easy to connect. We already had a hole in our sink top for a soap dispenser that I never used. This button fit in the soap dispenser hole perfectly. Now I never accidentally turn on the disposal when I want to turn on a light. Another bonus is that I can reach the switch while operating the water sprayer for the sink. Most people probably never had this problem, but I'm short and every house I've had where the disposal switch was on the wall I couldn't reach both the switch and the sink sprayer at the same time-- and in my last house if I opened my dishwasher to load it the wall disposal switch was completely out of reach. With this set up I can operate the disposal, the sink and the load the dishwasher all while standing in one spot. It's so convenient, I don't know how we ever lived without it.

Both power outlets under our sink are controlled by the switch above the sink. We had hoped these outlets were wired for half-hot (one outlet always on, one outlet switched) because we want to use a hot water heater (always-on) and a garbage disposal (switched).After searching for a solution, this Garbage Disposal Air Switch was perfect! This was the only power switch that alternated power between the two outlets, so that both outlets were never on at the same time. This is important because we don't want to overload the circuit by having the dishwasher, hot water heater, and garbage disposal all turn on at the same time.This button is designed to be installed on top of the sink, next to the faucet, where a spray handle or soap dispenser might be. However, my wife did not want to drill holes in the quartz so I found a way to mount it under the sink and still be easily reachable. I went to my local hardware store in the plumbing section and bought a 1-in diameter Galvanized Split Ring Pipe Hanger for less than $2. I was incredibly pleased how well this worked out, it fit so perfect, like it designed to hold this button! (See pictures)

It was easy to install. The only hard part was deciding where to put button on the countertop.

We received the air switch promptly and had great packaging. It was so easy to install!

I didn't want another hole in my granite countertop therefore I installed it on the face of the cabinet. As you see in the photo there was just one area right of the dishwasher for installing this button. Had it for 2 weeks and no complaints. It didn't say this on the website so I'll mention this about how it operates: Press it in and the motor starts, release the button and it motor keeps running. Press in again and of course the motor stops. I had kind of expected it would be more like press it in and it runs until you release the button but this is not a momentary switch. That's just what I was expecting but I'm still happy with the product and appearance.

I love this switch because I didn’t have to break walls to install a switch. Plugs easily on to an outlet . Easy to install and affordable. Used for my kitchen sink disposable unit . Recommend to others .

Works great. Bit pricey but very cool feature. Wish it came with other colour button options but the silver is nice. So far works well.
