I have used my sears HEPA vacuum cleaner for several years. I have a PurpleAir air quality sensor. When I run my old Sears vacuum cleaner by the PurpleAir sensor, I expected some small readings from a little dust in the vacuum cleaner exhaust. My PurpleAir sensor did not pick up any dust readings when the vacuum cleaner got close. (Search "PurpleAir Map" and find your area.) This was not a very scientific test, but if you have an air quality sensor, see if you see dust when your HEPA vacuum cleaner is running near the air quality sensor. For a non-HEPA vacuum cleaner you should detect dust.

Well, you have three choices, either buy this EnviroCare filter, that matches your Kenmore Filters, go to the Sears Support Site, and buy the Kenmore version, (if they have it at all) or buy the Panasonic version of the EF-1 filter from the Panasonic support site. Panasonic made nearly all of the Kenmore labeled vacuum and canister vacuum models. My worry is the aftermarket filters, like EnviroCare are not to spec. Yes, I am paranoid. The problem is how do you know its a REAL HEPA FILTER? If it's not HEPA, it's no good. Sure, it might work as a large particle filter, but then, the tiny particles, the micron level particles that are supposed to be captured by the final filter, that are key to meet the vacuum specifications published for the expensive Kenmore and Panasonic models, won't be met. Meaning, the allergens and irritants get back into the air in the house via the vacuum exhaust. Right now, I have FAITH that the EnviroCare Filters are HEPA, I have NO Proof. But I provide 4 stars as it fits, and it works (it passes air) but I can't confirm the small particles are picked up. To do that, I'd need verification from EnviroCare of testing of its HEPA product, or a published spec sheet, (MSDS data sheet?) But I can't find any proof. So 4 stars. I will say this, its better to use the Kenmore or Panasonic labeled part number, as those are HEPA. But if you want the cheap price, like I did, (it was easier to grab on the Amazon site) you are taking a risk the performance is NOT there. My wish is Amazon had an in house Consumer Reports, to verify manufacturer claims of performance, when some other mfg's post a lower price and CLAIM they are equal. In this case it can be hard to cross reference part numbers, and when you do, lower price may mean lower quality unless dispensed by Sears or Panasonic. Many of the Kenmore and Panasonic vacuum cleaner beat the performance of DYSON and others. But what do you do when you need to buy the replacement parts, and find nearly all are made by a copy vendor from overseas? That's hard.

Have you checked your HEPA Filter lately? I sure had not. The back of our canister vacuum literally blew off when it was turned on. Could not understand why till I looked at the HEPA Filter and it was totally black from trapped dirt and such. It wasn't letting the air go through, so pushed it out of the vacuum. Sears never seemed to have mine in the store, so ordered it through here. Received in perfect condition and was an exact fit. In fact, I have two models of vacuums and both use this filter. Filter went in without any problems and the back of my vacuum no longer blows off when it is turned on.

Keeps my air clean even with pets and kids! Helps to keep my costs down too!

Items arrived as expected and fits in the vacuum cleaner perfectly. So far does not seem to be any issues. Will have to wait and see over time.

I wrote a review the other day now am being asked for another one. They are filters, I ordered, they came, I won't know if they work until I vacuum again.
