Yes, there are four boots in the order.

Q: How do you size them?

Hi Elle. Measuring is critical for a good fit that won't fall off. Place your dog's front paw on a piece of paper and lift the opposite front paw so his weight is on the paper. Make a mark on each side of his paw at the widest point. The distance between the two marks is the paw size. So, if the paw was 2.5" - 2.75", you'd buy the 2.75" MD boots. We recommend measuring back paws the same way. Often the back paws will be smaller and may need another size. On our website we sell the boots in singles in addition to 4 packs so you can get different sizes. Unfortunately, on Amazon you'll only find the 4 pack right now. Thanks! Jason, Backcountry K-9

Q: what do the soles look like?

Hi Ann, The soles on the Rugged boots is a smooth and black material made of recycled tires. It's 50% thicker than the Durable line of boots, so less pliable and suited for wet or dry tougher conditions (concrete, snow, etc.) There is a picture on the UltraPaws.com website as well. Q: Do the boots go over the dew claws on the front legs? Had another pair that hit just under her dew claws and rubbed the area raw/made it bleed

My American Pit Bull has her dew claws, these did not bother the, or her at all.
