Or is it just a really well constructed microfiber cloth?** A: I don't believe there are any chemicals in the magicfiber cloths, rather just really well constructed cloth, as you suggested. With your question, however, I've sniffed the cloths and smell nothing and I've also washed some a time or two and their effectiveness hasn't been compromised. I will admit that when we use the cloth for cleaning our eyeglasses, if they're quit dusty/greasy/whatever, it's obviously best to at least rinse them first as anything you use to rub on the glasses can scratch them. For ordinary daily use and as wipes for computer monitor, tv screen, cell phone, etc., they work great and I see no sign of a chemical residue on the glass. But be sure to hand wash in warm water and air dry as the packaging states...which takes only a minute, and just lay on a paper towel to dry. The packaging does also state that the magicfiber cloths are good for drying wine glasses and other fine crystal...which would also indicate to me that there are no chemicals in the cloth because one would obviously be drinking or eating out of these items. Another great thing about these larger cloths is that you can leave them their original size or cut them to any handy size you want. My husband and I've found that often microfiber cloths for cleaning are just not quite big enough for particular tasks.
