Q: If I’m using this for jigging and just want to get to a certain depth is it easy enough to disengage the line from the counter?

It’s easy enough to disengage the line off the counter. I bought this to mark my line for Bluefin Tuna (100, 200, and 300 ft marks) Not sure what you are fishing for but might consider to use this to mark your line and then remove the counter entirely when fishing. Tight lines!

I dont think so. it will be to delicate, it is for fishing line and climbing rope will be to thick.
