No insight, name dropping throughout
Gets boring very quickly - primarily a list of where and whom he has played with: relentless name dropping throughout, lacking humility. He even lists himself in the top dance music moments of history at the end. Whether this is true or not, let someone else make that call. What’s missing is insight into deeper questions around what it means to be a superstar DJ. For example, what sacrifices has he made to get to where he is? How has fame influenced his relationships? What are the negatives of partying? What are things he would tell a younger version of himself?

Carl Cox ..living the dream
In my opinion now reaching the ripe old age off 50,I was there back in the Day fro 89 to 93,doing the race scene, fortunately for me,I stopped taking the GEAR ..A lot never, that’s there choice not my’n,still got my Decks and a few 1000 records..But as For Mr Cox,no disputing he was a lover of music, played for the vibe and the tribe, money came he took it,you realy can’t blame him,as for Dropping names,if you was a actor, you’d talk about who you worked with,it’s what we talk about, our building blocks our past, and what we became,I seen all the big boys back in the day..My favourite was SASHABut Carl played with so much love you could feel it,the number of nights I’ve spent wanting to be in his shoes you can’t imagine ..Honestly really nice bloke.DJLEGENDAnd not forgotten his roots..Total respect my Man ..And in your book, you forgot the 90’s,well I did lolBut still have the vinyl, and every tune as a memory, and strangely enough, you can still smell the smoke machine lolBass place BirminghamAlways remember your PastIt’s what makes your FutureRespect Mr Carl Cox 👍

Carl Cox has smashed it!
Recently finished this book which I was keen to start as I seen Carl Cox play in the early '90s.I was keen to know how Carl gat started, how he grew up, influencers, etc and this book did not disappoint!.I like how Carl covers not only the 'great times' but the struggles, relationships with other DJs and the owner of Space. What a great guy, great sense of humor, humble .... with his feet firmly on the ground.Excellent book if you are into clubbing, music or DJing to understand how Carl came from not even having 50p for electricity, yo the superstar three-deck wizard that he is :-)Highly recomend

Self promotion
The book starts off OK but by the end you get the feeling that Carl isn't as humble as he states he is and likes to brag about how well he is doing. The stuff about Burning Man and his car collection just seem totally removed from reality. In the end I went off Carl Cox.

Good read by the techno legend!!!
I was looking forward to this book as I loved the autobiographies by Moby who was also in the rave scene back in the early 90s. The book started off well with great details of how he started up and got recognition when he got involved in the rave scene. This, was the most important part of his life as this is where he got huge recognition but for some reason he didn't go into much detail at all about this period. I wanted to hear stories from the early 90s. I was expecting lots of stories about other DJs and more details of the clubs and the music. So, I felt he was just scratching the surface. If there is a squeal to this book, he could write a book focusing on the rave years of the early 90s and I would be at the front of the line to buy that book. His Djing was mesmerizing in the early 90s spinning vinyl records with incredible passion and mixing like nobody else. LEGEND!!!

A must,for music lovers!
I only have positive thinking about this book. What was impressed me about this book it is the fact that the book is about music history not only about the Dj Carl Cox . My favourite chapter is chapter number 8 that refers about the considered to be the father's of electronic music, no ather then Kraftwerk. Reading this book you eill discover seems the beginning of electric music and different genre of electronic music that emerged along the way until today. Carl Cox has done his part in this without any doubt. For me this book it will be a reference regarding the electronic, house music and many infuencers that participate in this beautiful journey which as Carl Cox correctly said ,,It is just begins "I am shure I will read it many times! Thanks Carl Cox!

Amazing!
Carl Cox is the undisputed king of the dance floor and this book shows why. Cleverly written. Carl’s personality bounces off every page making it impossible to put this book down. What an amazing book about an amazing guy. To have helped create an industry and still be the biggest name in electronic music today is astounding. The book is as good an autobiography as you’d ever read. Buy it. Five stars.

A little dull
Carl Cox is undoubtedly a brilliant DJ. I saw him many times back in the day. I was hoping for many crazy tales of those days which I'm sure Carl experienced but has decided to keep to himself. Maybe he doesn't want to damage his 'brand'. On the other hand maybe he was just the straightest, cleanest DJ ofthe age.The book is pretty much a list of big parties he performed at which got a bit boring tbh.I read Shawn Ryders book afterwards and then Brandon Blocks. Now that's what I was after!
