The Stoplight sleep enhancing alarm clock for kids from It's About Time is a fun and simple way for toddlers to answer their own question, is it time to get up at a young age toddlers know their colors and understand that red means stop and green means go. The Stoplight sleep enhancing alarm clock features a friendly, beautifully-crafted sculpted figure next to a Stoplight. The Stoplight features red and green lights that can be easily set by parents. A digital clock and optional beeping alarm function are also included. When the red light is on, kids will understand that it is still time to sleep. When the green light turns on, kids will know that it is time to get out of bed. Recommended by pediatricians.

Lifesaver!
It only took 2 nights & my 3 year old got it! He just moved in to a Big Boy bed & he would NOT stay in bed. We were exhausted trying to quietly put him back in bed what seemed like a thousand times. So we gave this a shot & my son loved the traffic lights with the train! This morning he woke up at 7am, stayed in his bed & read his books until the light turned green! Yay! I highly recommend this. It was SO easy to set up & although it is not superb quality…it works like a charm.

It will suffice
The quality is nice. I love the cuteness and design. It’s extremely lightweight. The lights work well and the kids learned the green light system within 2 days!! And now they ask for it to go on, and we all can sleep in more. But what I don’t like is there isn’t an option for two alarms.. we wake up for school at 6am and on the weekend I have reset the green light to 8am. The kids play in their room until it goes off and it WORKS. But having to reset and reset is a bit much. So I actually purchased another small clock for school alarm. And now we just use the green light on the off school days. But the kids wish we could have it on every night. They use the yellow nightlight. I painted the light buttons pink with nail polish because every button being the same confused the two year old and 7 year old and they kept setting the clock time instead. Not exactly kid friendly in that way.

Very helpful
My 2yo understands traffic lights and that red lights mean stop, so this was a great fit for us to work on teaching him when it is okay to get out of bed. It us very cute and easy to set up. I do wish it had the option to set up multiple alarms so could have one for nap time as well.

Great Sleep Training Tool
Our daughter was having a constant problem getting up way too early for us, we purchased another type of clock from Amazon and it was a failure, however we read the mix reviews on this and were skeptical, after we returned the other one and got this one . A year later, we must say this thing is freaking awesome and amazing. We can actually get an extra 30 minutes of sleep and it may not sound like a lot but for a parent with a toddler its' an extra 30 minutes of not having someone jumping on your head, or screaming at you. The key thing we realized with this clock is; its a training tool and order for you to be successful at it you have to train your kid. With our daughter we taught her when the "Light is red, we stay in bed", and When the light is Green its time to get up. We set the clock up for 6:30 in the morning, but the key thing is at night we turn the alarm on together and its a sign that we need to slow down and get ready to go to bed. If she wakes up at 6:00 AM, we walk her back to bed and she lays there till the light turns green. She has now been conditioned to get a book or play with her dolls until the light on the clock turns green, which has been a plus for us. It took us about a week to get the concept down including sending her back to her room until her clock turns green in the morning several times, and within a month she would sit in her bed quietly until the light turns. We also found out with our daughter her standard wake up time is 6:30, and we tried to see if we can manipulate her into staying in bed later with the clock and it did not work. The problem is she is only willing to stay in bed for up to 30 minutes, and after that she gets restless, so my advice is to use this in conjunction with your kids natural wake/sleep cycle, as this will not work miracles. Our only regret is that we did not discover this early enough it would of saved us some extra months of sanity.Cons:One Setting: You can only setup one alarm time, there is no timer. It would be great if there was a timer setting so we could use this for nap time. Because there is only one time setting we only use it at night. The setup is kind of cumbersome which means once we have it setup we don't mess with it.Price: I think the price is kinda of high for what this product is, but I guess you are selling parents control over their toddlers wake-up schedule, and an extra 3.5 hours of sleep per week in our case. I guess most parents would pay more than the asking price for that.

I loved this clock so much. I bought it a few years ago and it just stopped keeping time. I'm so sad!!!!

I Recommended it but overpriced
This purchase was to replace an older one of these that kept resetting all the time. We had that old one about 4 years and my boys love it so I decided to get another of the same model. My boys are 6 and 4 now so it's still helpful. My older guy get the concept of time a bit but in a half-asleep haze the clearness of the red and green lights is helpful, and thankfully they share a room. For a bit they both completely ignored the light but recently they are trying their best to watch it, so I freaked when the old one broke. My only big issue with this clock is the price for something that's relatively cheap. The reviews when I bought this (from diapers.com which is gone now) were 50/50 with people getting products with the car damaged. Our first one was perfect. This one came damaged but nothing some superglue can't fix. To not have to hassle with a return I'm fine with gluing it. I still recommend this clock to people. For a while I had this set where the grownups wanted it, 7am. It wasnt a teachable goal for the kids so I set it for 6:30 now and they literally wait for it to change and you hear their door open. So I wish it was lower cost, and you might get a damaged one too, but with how effective it is I cant complain. The traffic light theme is the best. We know people with the lamb that opens and closes its eye and my boys asked for this again.

Keep your kids in bed
I love this item. I have been using it for awhile now for both my boys, especially the youngest (4yo). My thought process for this light/clock was to keep my son in bed, as he was getting up several times in the night to want to come into my bed. After months of this and constant non-sleep, I found this on Amazon. It took a little bit but now he stays in bed until the alarm, " green light", (we opted for the light not the buzzer) goes off. He knows that he can get up to use bathroom but has to go back to bed if that green light isn't on. We set it to go off 15 minutes before I need to get up for work. Though I really do miss the late night snuggles, he is growing up to become independent and mama is getting sleep which is great for the whole house:) Definitely recommend this product.

Looks good but doesn't work with just batteries. Also.this plug will need a converter. Still hVent purchased one and don't know if it even works yet. Disappointing that the battery option doesn't work.

Expensive, but worth every penny
Let alone its very comprehensible to a 2 and 3 year old, not to get out of bed before the green light comes on, it also made our endless going-to-bed saga come to an end. I switch the red light on secretly, when they don't see me, while they're in the tub, and when they come out, it's a race to lay down, cause OMG, the red light is already on. I don't know which I appreciate more, not being woken up at 5 am on a Saturday or my quite evenings...

Finally, something that works!
We've tried other clocks with our kids, trying to get them to stay in their rooms sleeping until a reasonable hour - since their idea of when to wake up doesn't match ours. Other clocks didn't work, but the idea of a stoplight is so simple - kids recognize them when we drive, and learn quickly that Red is Stop. The overall quality of it wasn't the best (residual glue around the figures that really take away from the appearance), which is why I took away a star.It would be great if you could program the start time for the "stop", and not just the wakeup.

Great little clock
My son is obsessed with traffic lights and gets so excited to turn the light on. It works great. It's just cheap plastic so it's a bit pricy for what it is but if it helps him stay in bed it's worth it. So far it has been helping.
