Excellent author with an unlimited imagination
I read the original Spook series and associated companion books as well as the Star Blade series, so I was excited get my hands on the next spinoff series of Brother Wulf.I'm also an adult. I've been a fan of the Spook series since the summer of 2007; originally I bought the first book for my son who was 13 at the time and then read it myself because he loved it so much. I became instantly enthralled by the characters and universe Joseph Delaney created. His writing reels you in like a fish on a line and it's nearly impossible to put the book down once you are immersed.I read the first book in the Brother Wulf series on Kindle as I had switched over some time in 2010, and kept checking every once in a while to see if the next book had been released. I was disappointed every time I didn't see one - they had been released but I never thought to check for actual book books. I think I didn't know about them because I live in the US. I am so used to reading books on a e-reader that reading a paperback again took some getting used to, but honestly I would have read it off of a cave wall without complaint if I had to in order to find out what happened next in the story.I may not have even discovered these books at all had my son and I not been discussing Joseph Delaney at a restaurant over breakfast last month. We both whipped out our phones to do a Google search to check if the next book in the series was available yet but got a nasty surprise instead: Joseph Delaney had passed away the previous August. Appetites ruined, we spent the rest of the day mourning his loss, discussing our regret we never got to meet him in person to shake his hand and thank him for his gift he shared with the world, and reminiscing about our most favorite aspects of the series. My son is almost 30 now but this series still has a special place in both of our hearts. This book is actually the 3rd of 4 books but Amazon doesn't carry book 2 or 4, only book 1 and3. I had to research where to buy them and finally found them at Blackwell's in London (I live in the US and was glad to get them) so I had to wait for book 2 to arrive before I could actually read this one. Once I got books 2-4 I devoured them unable to put them down.I won't give away any of the storyline and spoil it, but what I will say is that Joseph Delaney was wonderfully talented and creative. Some old favorites make their appearances in the plot and this series was a delight to read. I consider myself fortunate to have read all the books in this universe and thank my lucky stars that first book caught my eye as I strolled aimlessly through Barnes and Noble many years ago.Thank you Mr. Delaney - you were a gift from God to everyone who loves a great story. I appreciate your immense talent for telling a great tale and you will always be always remain one of my most favorite authors of all time. God speed friend.

Brilliant book
Just like his other Spook books, this one is a brilliant read. Sad but still gripping. My only criticism is that there were only two people with their stories Alice and Wulf. It would have added to the storyline to have read something from Tilda. I thought the grandfather clock might have been a clue that perhaps Tilda had married. Interesting if she hadn’t as to having a grave stone wonder who put that in place. Could it perhaps have been Jenny, or did Tom manage to train another Spook before he passed. I wonder if there will be other books and another apprentice, what will happen after Wulf set his own trap.

Super
Ich liebe die Spook Bücher und dieses macht da keine Ausnahme. Konnte es garnicht aus der Hand legen und hatte es in Zwei Tagen schon durch…leider.

Totally inspiring
I have read all the books. As always, I cannot seem to put it down. Very imaginative characters. The ending as always was unpredictable and regrettable . I hope there is another book to follow.

Joseph Delaney
Mr Delaney has once again made me enthralled. Each page makes it difficult to stop reading and do something other than immerse oneself deeper into this exciting story. Wulf and his friends adventures make a compelling read. Both adult and children, fantasy book fans, will enjoy the continuing story of Brother Wulf.
