Slow down the signs of aging by nourishing skin tissues
I am not new to the use of essential and carrier oils, but using sea buckthorn oil was a new experience for me even though I had read about its use in nourishing the tissues in your skin and body and that it had a long history in regional folk medicines dating back thousands of years. While I already have self made oil and lotion blends that I use for facial and body skin that I am very happy with, I am always open to learning new things and improving on what's there. So I was really curious and attracted to sea buckthorn due to its healing and rejuvenating effects on the skin and wanted to give it a try. I saw this product on Amazon and since US Organic Group wasn't a supplier that I was familiar with I had to research first before I was willing to purchase something that I was planning to use on my skin. I realize that reviews are not meant to be about manufacturer, but the manufacturer plays a key role for me in something like essential oils. One thing that swayed me in giving this manufacturer a try is not only because the product certified organic, but also that their products are 100% cruelty free. If you do a little further searching you will find that this company seems to have wellness in their DNA with affiliations to some other interesting organizations. The oil itself has what I would call a deep amber or red orange color and viscous. It has a bit of a musky scent to it, although you can't really smell unless you hold it up directly to your nose. It can stain your skin, especially if you fail to dilute sufficiently. However, this is temporary and washes off easily. It's a great exfoliator, skin cleanser and good for healing the skin. There have actually been studies done which show that daily use helps slow down the signs of aging by nourishing skin tissues. What's there not to love about that! My facial skin is extremely sensitive and I have gotten to the point that I will know almost immediately if my skin likes what I am putting on it or not. I know some people may think that I am a little nuts, but it's true in my case. The reason I bring this up, is that when I used this product in my blend and apply it to my face, I can feel my skin reacting positively. This is a very concentrated oil, and I recommend that you use sparingly. Also make sure that you dilute with a good carrier oil. There are a number of other essential oils that are good for your skin which you can add in your blend such as carrot seed, rose hip, lavender, frankincense, geranium and others. I can't tell you what blend works best in your particular case as everyone is unique. There are a lot of good articles that will help you get started. Whatever blend/s you come up with, I do recommend you include sea buckthorn given its ability to promote skin hydration, regeneration and elasticity, and even helps treat acne.

Great oil; will stain.
Supports healthier skin; reduced a growing lump on my cheek; reduced the color of dark spots. It will stain sheets and neck collars. Put it on after dinner so that I sinks in beige bed. Use a towel over your pillowcase. The more that you use, the mire that it will stain. I usually is 3-4 drops mixed with rose seed oil, lanolin, aloe, and hylaironic acid. Just mix in you hand, then rub into face, neck, chest and hands.

Skin is smooth and soft but it will stain your skin
Skin is smooth and soft but it will stain your skin yellow like really yellow, you will want to blend it with a carrier oil at home.

Not happy with this product.
This oil is bright yellow and stains everything it touches. My white sheets and pillowcases are ruined. I have no use for it. I certainly cannot apply it to my face and go out, nor can I use it before bedtime. This product is a complete waste of money.

I have been using this ESO for about 2 years. It is amazing!! I just came recently from a long trip to the Mediterranean, this oil is our best ever sun protection with out a question. Only 4 drops added to 1 cup of virgen olive oil, and you are good to go. It gives a bit of tint but let your body absorb and it is okay. Be careful if you are going to use any white tops ... make sure your skin ready. I even use if on a hurry a small baby wipe to absorb a bit of the oil. I use one or 2 drops with Jojoba oil as my face moisturizer with few drops of Myrrh and Frankincense... it will keep a natural glow in your face and protect from the elements.

This sea buckthorn berry oil is very potent and high quality — rich color, strong natural scent, and a little goes a long way when used topically. It absorbs well into the skin and feels nourishing, especially for dry areas. One thing that’s important to mention is that this product is not intended for internal consumption, which some people might assume because other sea buckthorn products are edible. The bottle and dropper feel sturdy, and the CO₂-extracted formula gives it a clean, concentrated profile. Overall, it’s a great topical oil if you’re looking for something natural and nutrient-dense, just make sure you’re using it as directed.

After reading about the benefits of sea buckthorn oil on the skin, particularly the berry oil (as it is richer in omega-7 fatty acids that help repair tissue), I had to try this. I usually use rosehip oil, but I felt Iike treating my skin to something richer since Fall is approaching. The product isn’t cheap for the relatively small bottle, but a little goes a long way. It is incredibly effective and potent, I noticed improved texture in my skin in just two days of use - supple and smooth! What I wasn’t prepared for was how much this stains if you’re as pale as I am. I made the mistake of putting this on in the morning and I was tinted orange for hours. However, the next time I put it on before bed, and it seemed to have sunk into my skin overnight and I wasn’t left with excess pigmentation. I’d suggest using this only as a night oil, and I wouldn’t use a white pillowcase to sleep on. If you have a darker complexion you might be able to get away with this as put-on-and-go oil in the morning. Either way, I recommend it and I’m not deterred by the pigmentation issue; it’s a characteristic of the sea buckthorn berry and it’s a small price to pay for the incredible benefits we find in natural beauty products!

All you need are 3 drops in your hand and gently rub it thro your hair to add a nice blonde tinge to brighten up your hair. It looks like you are kissed by the sun. Be careful not to overdo it. The colour is quite pretty

The oil has a dark colour, but when I use it for massage and rinse it off with a cleanser, my skin feels incredibly moisturized, so it's very useful.

Great oil. Solidifies in fridge due to its high monounsaturated fat content. It's dark red because it's the berry oil. I really thought it wouldn't be too dark but even just 1 drop mixed into 8-10 drops of other oils in my hand still makes my face look orange tinted. If it gets mixed into cream it turns the cream yellow and makes it look like I mixed tumeric into my cream lol. So I find it better to mix it into other oils in my hand then apply my face cream after its sunk in a bit. It still ends up looking yellowy but not as bad as when I mix it into my cream. I'm super pale though so darker skin colors could get away with it easier probably. I can only use 1 drop at a time. I might try the seed oil version next which is lighter to see which I like better.
